Whilst there is not yet a full set (and whilst inevitably the page itself takes time to load) I though it would be helpful to share the images I have captured as part of my research work. With the UK going through a uniform review, we do hear claims that the UK Guide uniform seems to change every five minutes. Even though the reality is that there are usually decades between changes, not minutes. Nevertheless, a look at the constant chopping and changing of the Guide section uniform between the mid-1960s and the mid-1970s may be instructive....

Officially, yes. But that's by no means the whole story. We can trace the story back much further. Indeed, it might date as far back as April 1914! For in issue 4 of the Girl Guides Gazette there was an article about the Rhyadder Company's "Honourable Order of Old Guides". As the article explained, "Nearly all our Guides at the age of 15, or even before, go out to work, and so are obliged to leave the Company as they cannot attend the meetings regularly, even if they do not leave Rhyadder altogether....

Yes, it's that time again, UK Guiding is looking to do a redesign of the uniforms for all sections - the first full redesign across all sections since 1990.
