Thanks going out to everyone who helped make the 50th Anniversary celebration of Watkins Glen a special one to remember. Thanks 'Steelin' Peaches' for the hospitality and fun in recreating these '1973 Magical moments' via the music, lighting, and special video effects. It was great to come back to Ocala, and glad to share the experience with so many of our friends in the audience.

‘Jerry Days’ were fun, Watkins Glen to come, but there’s an appetizer tonight at the Crooked Thumb! 7 pm. Announcement forthcoming for a special event as part of Traver’s Week in Saratoga Springs, NY.

Ok, so now I get it..😂 Mike Bortz starts off the evening, as Set 1 is about to get underway, asking me where I got the GD shirt that I’m wearing to which I reply, “don’t remember” as is the case with many that I have - 30 or more years ago, unless it was at a particular show, not much I can associate with them. Playing ‘tiger’, between songs, I am asked by many upfront at the stage to spin around to which I’m thinking perhaps it’s a request to see the backside pearl inlay-work on the guitar. And finally, I am being offered cash for my shirt if it’s signed? Sure enough, an Ebay search reveals the answer to the wardrobe attention - Standing on the Moon pre-owned fetching $700 - $2500. It did feel good to play in but not sure if I should wash it now ; suggestions?

What's everyone's plans this weekend? It's time to dust off those 'rusty strings' just a few more times as 'Uncle John's Band' makes its rounds in Florida. Kicking it off on Thursday night is 'Grateful Dead Thursdays' at Ringside Cafe' in St. Pete with the next stop on the weekend tour, a Friday evening post-Thresher's Game performance at the ballpark in Clearwater. For those of you who will be attending the premier ' Sunshine Get Down Festival' at Florida Sands Music Park in Brooksville this weekend, UJB will be taking the main stage at 9pm on Saturday evening for a long two-set performance with a 'first-time' stage appearance and audition of Jerry Garcia's 1980's 'Grateful Dead' guitar rig. I am really excited to have the opportunity to bring a part of 'Grateful Dead' history into close encounters for this event. Speaking of Grateful Dead history, one of our festival promoters, Harry Popick, who has had the honor of working with the Grateful Dead as stage monitor technician for 20 years will be on hand as well. Ed Greene of WMNF will be hosting a 'GD' Name that Tune event to start the day on Saturday. Plenty of good concert vibes will be in the making!
