Here’s the short story of our pony mule, Molly! I couldn’t touch her when she first came to live with us in Oklahoma. No one else could catch her in the pasture. Mules are unlike any other animal I’ve experienced. They remember. And they are so intelligent. They are such kind creatures under all that aloofness. Deemed “stubborn” often, it’s actually the failure on our part to communicate with them fairly and listen back. Through a lot of time, work, frustration and patience, she began to trust people again. Her story is a beautiful one of second chances and redemption! Here she is now, my partner in crime and giving many children their first ever experience on horseback, including our boys. I love her so very much. She’s special. I’m now a mule gal forever because of those long ears. ❤️❤️❤️
