Writing this post to celebrate my dad, fondly self-nicknamed as "Dear Old Dad," since he was a young man. My father has been the epitome of patience, gentleness, kindness, humility, and generosity. His sense of humour has always made our world light up with glee. I've never known a man who was a better listener, a harder worker, and a better provider. His dedication to my mom - 65 years of marriage and still in love - has taught me the power of loyalty, trust, commitment, and forgiveness. And while he struggled with alcohol for some time when I was young, he celebrated 46 years of sobriety in AA recently. My Dad's amazing!

His health is now faltering and it's hard for us all to witness, yet I am so deeply grateful to be able to celebrate yet another Father's Day with "Dear Old Dad."

I love you Dad!!

It's a long journey from the head to the heart,
when the stakes are big.

We've all been fooled by painful subjects of late ~
almost too unbelievable to be real. But real it is.

As more comes to light these days, may we be super gentle,
and trust together, we will get through it all.

When we know what's up, we can do something about it.

Get out in nature and breathe deep the beauty.

Why are we here?

The greatest minds have always pointed ~

This sweet tale speaks to what we need most: attuned listening and eye contact, and unconditional love and acceptance.

It's been hard for us to give this to others, for when we were young, our hurts were dismissed, and we pushed them down. Then when others we love hurt, we push away their hurts as it triggers our own pain, still buried inside.

If you're a parent, or a friend, or a family member, this gentle reminder is a perfect accompaniment to a precious Sunday.

Winnie the Pooh and Piglet have a Talk.

"Piglet?" said Pooh.

"Yes?" said Piglet.

"I'm scared," said Pooh.

For a moment, there was silence.

"Would you like to talk about it?" asked Piglet, when Pooh didn't appear to be saying anything further.

"I'm just so scared," blurted out Pooh.

"So anxious. Because I don't feel like things are getting any better. If anything, I feel like they might be getting worse. People are angry, because they're so scared, and they're turning on one another, and there seems to be no clear plan out of here, and I worry about my friends and the people I love, and I wish SO much that I could give them all a hug, and oh, Piglet! I am so scared, and I cannot tell you how much I wish it wasn't so."

Piglet was thoughtful, as he looked out at the blue of the skies, peeping between the branches of the trees in the Hundred Acre Wood, and listened to his friend.

"I'm here," he said, simply. "I hear you, Pooh. And I'm here."
For a moment, Pooh was perplexed.

"But... aren't you going to tell me not to be so silly? That I should stop getting myself into a state and pull myself together? That it's hard for everyone right now?"

"No," said Piglet, quite decisively. "No, I am very much not going to do any of those things."

“But - " said Pooh.

"I can't change the world right now," continued Piglet.

"And I am not going to patronise you with platitudes about how everything will be okay, because I don't know that.

"What I can do, though, Pooh, is that I can make sure that you know that I am here. And that I will always be here, to listen; and to support you; and for you to know that you are heard.

"I can't make those Anxious Feelings go away, not really.

"But I can promise you that, all the time I have breath left in my body...you won't ever need to feel those Anxious Feelings alone."

And it was a strange thing, because even as Piglet said that, Pooh could feel some of those Anxious Feelings start to loosen their grip on him and could feel one or two of them start to slither away into the forest, cowed by his friend, who sat there stolidly next to him.

Pooh thought he had never been more grateful to have Piglet in his life."

May we work at being better listeners, and bring more peace into the world.

In this time of great challenges,
comes an amazing opportunity to love.

Your heart will announce opportunities ~
and we feel deeply why

I wrote this post on this day 5 years ago ~
before all the hell we went through,
and today it speaks more loudly to the
courage & growth that we've embodied.

Much love, understanding, and strength
to all our Earth's Wounded Healers ~
which in essence is all of us,
true HEROES in the making,
who endured much.

Did you ever consider that all the mistakes you’ve made are there to guide you, that we all have a difficult path to trudge?

Did you ever think that the worst things you’ve done, the ones you feel the most remorse about, could (eventually) be seen as a blessing?

Did you ever guess that the most traumatic things you’ve been through are gifts set up by you for your Soul’s growth?

Could your greatest life challenges have come to help you conquer fear in order to help you shine your light so brightly that you’ll inspire others to find their way?

We don’t get to the mountaintop without painful contrast. Contrast makes us want to move in the opposite direction; to move from pain to joy. It makes us crave the opposing path.

Wounded people can and will become Wounded Healers if they keep on seeking healing. Wounded Healers are incredibly powerful forces and great blessings in our world.

We are varied in every way, but we've all come here to heal. We need people who are willing to get back up again (and again and again if necessary).

Suffering builds faith. Faith builds courage. Courage builds effort. Effort builds right action. Right action builds authenticity. Authenticity is the path that will change the world; it’s following our Soul’s true voice.

There are great uprisings of wounded souls who are becoming healers by being willing to face (go into) their pain.

Eventually these people find the willingness to feel painful feelings, to reintegrate fragments of themselves. They begin to make healthier choices, to choose joy. to risk following love, and in the process, become wholly authentic.

Wounded Healers will be the reason we heal our world.

A deep bow to all the wounded people who are following their Souls.

Following up today after yesterday's health-enhancing HORSETAIL info," today's health quest into Pacha Mama's bounty,
looks at the infamous DANDELION.
Personally, I adore dandelions and consume them gratefully every day in my smoothies. They benefit us in myriad ways! And don't they look like Mother Earth herself ~ the Sun, the Moon, and the Stars? As a child, did you not blow those dandelion ghosts & watch them fly away, wondering where they'd have their next baby? Magical memories for me.
Although in modern culture, many abhore this tenacious plant, and add earth-harming pesticides to our soils & waters to get rid of it ~
maybe we'd be better to learn what this lovely plant can do for us?
***
Writer Anita Sanchez has some beautiful things to say about them:
"Whether you love them or hate them, dandelions are among the most familiar plants in the world. They’re one species that just about anyone can identify at a glance, as familiar to humans as the dog. Dandelions are, quite possibly, the most successful plants that exist, masters of survival worldwide.
Before the invention of lawns, people praised the golden blossoms and lion-toothed leaves as a bounty of food, medicine and magic. Gardeners often w**ded out the grass to make room for the dandelions. But somewhere in the twentieth century, humans decided that the dandelion was a w**d. Nowadays, they’re also the most unpopular plant in the neighborhood – but it wasn’t always that way.
To show the benefits of the once-beloved plant, here are 10 ten things you might not know about dandelions.
1. Dandelions have deep roots in history throughout the ages. Ancient Egyptians, Greeks and Romans enjoyed the flower, and they have been used in Chinese traditional medicine for over a thousand years. Dandelions probably arrived in North America on the Mayflower – not as stowaways, but brought on purpose for their medicinal benefits.
2. Dandelions were world-famous for their beauty. They were a common and beloved garden flower in Europe, and the subject of many poems. In the terrifying New World, the cheerful face of the dandelion was a sweet reminder of home. In Japan for instance, whole horticultural societies formed to enjoy the beauty of dandelions and to develop exciting new varieties for gardeners.
3. Dandelions are a green and growing first aid kit. The use of dandelions in the healing arts goes so far back that tracing its history is like trying to catch a dandelion seed as it floats over the grass. For millenniums, people have been using dandelion tonics to help body’s liver remove toxins from the bloodstream. In olden times, dandelions were also prescribed for every ailment, from warts to the plague. To this day, herbalists hail the dandelion as the perfect plant medicine: It is a gentle diuretic that provides nutrients and helps the digestive system function at peak efficiency.
4. Dandelions are more nutritious than most of the vegetables in your garden. They were named after lions because their lion-toothed leaves healed so many ailments, great and small: baldness, dandruff, toothache, sores, fevers, rotting gums, weakness, lethargy and depression. But it wasn’t until the twentieth century was the underlying cause of many of these symptoms realized: vitamin deficiencies. In eras when vitamin pills were unknown, vitamin deficiencies killed millions. In its time, “scurvy” was as dreaded a word as AIDS is today. Data from the U.S. Department of Agriculture reveal how dandelions probably helped alleviate many ailments: They have more vitamin A than spinach, more vitamin C than tomatoes, and are a powerhouse of iron, calcium and potassium.

5. Dandelions are good for your lawn. Their wide-spreading roots loosen hard-packed soil, aerate the earth and help reduce erosion. The deep taproot pulls nutrients such as calcium from deep in the soil and makes them available to other plants. While most think they’re a lawn killer, dandelions actually fertilize the grass.
6. Dandelions are masters of survival. They can take root in places that seem little short of miraculous, and then are impossible to get rid of, as homeowners have found. But why is this plant so hard to kill? It’s because they are fast growers. The sunny yellow flowers go from bud to seed in days. Their lifespan is long, too – an individual plant can live for years, so the dandelion lurking in a corner of the playground might be older than the children running past it. The roots sink in deeper over the years, and can go down 15 feet. Like the Hydra who sprouted two new heads for every one that was cut off, the roots clone when divided; a one-inch bit of dandelion root can grow a whole new dandelion. Dandelion leaves can shove their way though gravel and cement, and thrive in barren habitats.
7. Dandelions are among the most expensive items in the grocery store. Shops sell dried roots as a no-caffeine coffee substitute – for $31.75 a pound. Dandelions out-price prime rib, swordfish and lobster. They also appear in produce and other sections, and even at the liquor store. You can enjoy a complete meal, from salad greens to dandelion quiche, followed by dandelion ice cream, washed down with dandelion wine. If you over-indulge, a cup of dandelion tea is the perfect remedy, since dandelions help the liver flush hangover-inducing toxins from the body.
8. Herbicides used on lawns to kill dandelions take a terrible toll on wildlife. More than seven million wild birds are estimated to die annually due to the use of lawn pesticides. Lawns make up thirty million acres of the United States, and Americans use an estimated 80 million pounds of pesticides on them annually. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service reports that “homeowners use up to ten times more chemical pesticides per acre on their lawns than farmers use on crops.”
9. But there’s a safer way to have a dandelion-free lawn! Let the grass grow 3 or 4 inches tall to shade out the sun-loving dandelions, or use specialized tools like the W**d Hound to have a thriving, healthy yard that is safe for kids, pets and wildlife.
10. And at the end of the day, dandelions are just plain fun. The dandelion seems to be the flower earmarked for children: In a park or garden, it’s the only flower a kid can pick without getting into trouble. A child in a field full of dandelions can practically never run out of things to do: Blowing on dandelion puffballs can tell you if it’s time to go home, how many years until you get married, or how many children you’ll have – and of course, if you catch a flying dandelion seed, you can make a wish.
Dandelions require sun and disturbed soil to thrive. That’s why they seem to “look for” human activities: roadsides, construction sites, parking lots – and lawns. Having escaped the herb gardens a few decades ago, they now seem to be on a quest to get back into the yards they once abandoned.
Dandelions probably will never be eradicated, but we can learn to be more at ease with dandelions and other wild things – and maybe even to love them a little."

My friends,

This is very important.

We stand at a critical juncture that calls for our immediate attention and decisive action. The evidence I will present here pertains not only to pressing issues of betrayal and deceit, but strikes at the very core of our public health and the future well-being of our children. It is with a sense of profound responsibility and urgency that this information is brought to light, driven by many like myself and caring medical personnel. Our united goal is, to transparency and the imperative to safeguard our most vulnerable.

Recent investigations have uncovered practices that are deeply concerning; ones that jeopardize the integrity of our institutions and the health of our children. These findings raise significant ethical and moral questions, and demand a thorough and immediate public discourse. As guardians of the next generation, we owe it to our communities—and to our children—to examine these revelations with the utmost seriousness and resolve.

It is in this spirit that I present the following evidence, not to alarm but to inform; not to accuse but to clarify. The decisions and the actions we take in response to this evidence in the days, months, and years to come, will define our values and our legacy. Let us proceed with both the gravity and the hope that this moment requires - committed to truth, justice, and the enduring health of our community.

The medical doctor who brings forth this recent study and explains its content, is sickened by its findings, as we may well be too. Due to the present culture of our leadership to censor all content that may implicate them, it is important that we watch this now and safeguard the link to the peer-reviewed scientific paper. I will only post the medical link in the comment section, not in this write-up, or it will be more quickly taken down.

May the urgency of this notice spring within us not fear, but from a profound commitment to the welfare of every individual in our community. The evidence presented today touches upon fundamental aspects of our lives—our health, our honesty, and our future. It is with a deep sense of duty and care that we bring these issues to the forefront, believing that awareness and informed action are our best tools for safeguarding our collective future. Let us move forward together, with resolve and unity, to address these challenges head-on, ensuring a healthier, more transparent, and just society for ourselves and for generations to come.

I love you all,
Janeta Jane xo

Saturday, March 9, 2024 ~ International Women's Day.

May we honour all women for how far we have come -
for our dedication, endless giving, diligence, and loyalty.

May we women realize that not only do we fortify our world ~
but we do so with phenomenal grace, patience and beauty.

May we women focus less on the challenges we face ~
and more on our progress, faithfulness, and incredulity.

May both women and men focus on healing the division ~
heal the hurts, toss the false stories, and celebrate each other.

May 2024 be the year that ends cycles of hatred and victimhood ~
working together by honouring self & others, with love & respect.

Women, for international day of 2024 ~

May you carry a torch of peace, care, and righteousness.
May you shine bright as you heal more; rise ever stronger. Free!
May you uplift our world with both nurturance & divine fierceness.

There really is no future -
by the time the future arrives,
it is eternally the present.

All anxiety & worry arises from not being here now;
projected worries can become a destructive habit,
one that steals peace & the joy of living.

When we become mindful of ours thoughts,
we can release age-old patterns of anxiety & worry -
schemas often developed from fearful childhood trauma.

Awareness ends these future projecting patterns,
bring peace, higher consciousness, gratitude.

It also makes us much easier to live with!

Taking time each day to sit in silence,
no distractions, watching our thoughts,
allows us to develop a higher knowing.

As worrisome or negative thoughts arise
we can choose to let them go
before emotional engagement.

Key to peaceful living.

Have a beautiful day.

Water lilies being gathered for market on the Mekong River in Vietnam.
Water lilies are in the poetically named Nymphaea genus and, like lotuses, are aquatic flowering plants with gorgeous blooms. Their shoots, leaves, flower buds, and tubers are all edible. Note that some species are more palatable than others.
Medicinally, water lilies are traditionally used similarly to lotuses. They are tonic and rejuvenating, which means they are effective when taken regularly as food or medicine to build strength in the body and the mind. The seeds are nourishing to the heart and reproductive fluids, while the roots aid conditions of excess or stagnation, such as diarrhea, hemorrhoids, and bleeding disorders.
Plus, they are beautiful and peaceful to behold 🌿 Who has a water garden and grows water lilies or lotuses?
