My sweet, 2 year old great-niece has been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes and has been fortunate enough to be introduced to a very special dog, Moose, trained to alert when her numbers are dangerous. She's had multiple, scary, hospitalizations and Moose would be an incredible addition to their family. If you feel compelled to help, any amount (every dollar helps), please click on the link in our bio. Our whole family would be beyond grateful! She is the light of our lives! #

📣 Exciting News! 📣 Join us on Saturday, July 8th at 10:30 am for story time and book signing with local author Danielle Wheeler and her debut book I’ve Got Spots! also featuring special guest Niki Umbenhower for an inspiring story.

Danielle began writing about her experience with vitiligo, a condition that causes skin to lose its pigment. Danielle aims to empower those with vitiligo, educate others about the condition, and encourage everyone to embrace their individuality. After all, we all have something that makes us unique. We all have our own "spots" and it's time to embrace them.

Niki Umbenhower, Dog Mom of the late White Eyed Rowdy, will also attend, sharing the incredible story of how one dog with vitiligo became a global sensation.

This event is suitable for all ages, emphasizing the importance of embracing our differences and feeling comfortable in our skin.

Danielle will also bring her passion for music, having co-written the song "I've Got Spots!" which is available on Spotify. She will incorporate musical instruments, creating a body-positive dance party to conclude the story time and book signing. Additionally, there will be stickers, a coloring page activity, and the opportunity to have books signed and engage in Q&A sessions with Danielle.

Don't miss this remarkable event filled with positivity, empowerment, and celebration of uniqueness. Embrace your "spots" and join the party!

About the Author:

Sadness engulfed me today when I learned that sweet Lois has passed on! 🥺 She was the first ever "Rowdy Sitter" and we will never forget her! The sweetest, kindest, most lovely woman who loved our dog so much! She and her daughter Christi took THE BEST care of Rowdy when we needed them most!!! I trusted them so much with him and feel blessed to have crossed paths with her! She loved to sneak bites of her cheeseburger to sweet ole Rowdy and he loved her so much!! Christi and family...Heartfelt sorrow and condolences, from my family to yours. Please accept our deepest condolences for your loss. We sincerely hope peace finds you during this difficult time.

Lois - please give him a big long hug from us and a sweet kiss right between his eyes - he loved those!!!

Our Vitiligo Community is celebrating World Vitiligo Day today! This is the day that Michael Jackson passed away, which was behind the decision to have June 25 be such a special day to recognize, educate, bring awareness and “spot”light beautiful people (and animals 😉) with this condition.

My journey through my dogs Vitiligo has been life-changing! We have met THE MOST special people, from all over the world, along the way and have built lifetime friendships and a supportive community because of it.

One of my most favorite people in the world was brought into our lives because of Vitiligo! The ever-so-beautiful, bright, confident, and inspiring Ava Bright, who is trailblazing the youth (and adult) community and modeling the most positive approach to this condition! She really gave me clarity into what we could do with Rowdy’s condition and a path to try and inspire and educate any one we could! I am honored to know this young lady (and her mother) and cannot wait until we can all get together again following this pandemic. I know that I speak for many when I say we have missed the in person WVD Conference and what it does for everyone’s souls! Can’t wait for next year!

If you get the opportunity to sign into the WVD Conference going on today and tonight please do so. Great speakers, great stories, and wonderful connections! (I think it’s being recorded).
