I did a blog about our adoption for many years, the dream of seeing it in book form is coming close.
I read somewhere that many self-published books don't sell many in fact they often don't get to 250. Well, this week I'm glad to say that I reached that plateau and have even surpassed it by one. Hopefully our story of adoption and the family of God continues to encourage and inform all who choose to read it.
Hi all,
I don't normally put up stats, but I noticed that another book sold so I looked at the stats to see right now Our Road to Adoption is in the top 186,000s which might sound like much, but there are millions of titles available.
I'm always excited when I know that our story has gone out to others who are interested, I stand by the saying that I want the book to helpful and hopeful to all who read it.
Also if you have read it, could you leave a review as they are so helpful too for other readers looking for titles.
Best Sellers Rank: 186,025 in Books (See Top 100 in Books)
537 in Adoption (Books)

This past Sunday was the second week of Advent, and I've written a piece focused on love. It's taking a Christmas song, this time the beautiful 'Breath of Heaven' which happens to be my daughter Amy's favourite this season and looking at how it's a song of love. You can read my thoughts, the lyrics and listen to the song here on Notes of Noel.

Each Sunday in Advent I'm creating a study of a Christmas song that speaks to me, with a link to the song, the lyrics with reflections and thoughts on the words. This is the first one this season, it's focussed on the first keyword of Advent: Hope

I wanted to let you all know that I continue to post to the blog I've started for the Path Through the Psalms. If you've never read or done one of the paths, it's an interactive study through a chapter of the book of Psalms from the Bible. Each one include my reflections, song links that go with the chapter's theme, often a short guest talk and more. I've been doing them for months now and am posting them starting with chapter 1 to a new blog which has been started up.
A Path Through Chapter 4 Chapter 4, Prayer
I've been doing much writing over the last couple of years. I've been sending some of this out to people through email, but I thought I'd set up a blog too. So what I'm doing is inputting the Path Through the Psalms which I've been writing many weeks over the last two years.
It's an interactive study of a chapter from the book of Psalms in the Bible. There's music links, often a guest speaker and plenty of my insight dotted throughout. I'd love for you to check out the blog, subscribe so that you get a notification when a new one goes up. I think it's time this resource gets shared wider.
A Path Through Chapter 1 There's a path, let's follow it We're beginning our look at the hymn book of the Psalms. Today it's chapter one, this chapter really sets ...
It's National Adoption Week, so we reflect how this lot of three have changed us for the better.
It's been 11 years since we fist embarked upon the voyage of adoption. The ups and downs have strengthed us, have given us resolve to push forward and have grown our hearts. The three you see below are beautiful girls who cause us to still pinch ourselves that we can be called 'Mom and Dad'.
There are so many children out there waiting, for a forever home, a safe and stable place to grow. Children who may not know how to receive love, but so desperately need it. There are so many amazing people out there who have opened their hearts, home and family to children in care.
Could you be another person or couple who embarks upon the voyage? Yes there are challenges, yes there are setbacks, yes there are struggles, but hey... just look at those smiles.
I love being a champion at Home for Good and supporting Parents and Children Together - PACT who has supported us through the years. Please let me know if you'd like help getting started.
Its a special week coming up in the world of adoption. Let's raise the profile on such a life-changing action for everybody involved. Thankfully there are so many amazing people who help make it happen for the thousands of children who await a forever family.
I'm still in awe that I had the opportunity to share our story, and that people want to read it. This week 2 copies have sold. How did they come across 'Our Road to Adoption'?
I don't know, maybe it was word of mouth, maybe a family looking to adopt, could be a couple desperate for children looking for hope. Either way it's my aim that the reader is brought joy as they read, along with finding it a helpful and hopeful read.
Grab yourself a copy at https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/1717065384 it's only a tenner on the UK site.
My amazing family is off camping today, that means I have a whole day at home with my computer, a cup of coffee, probably a candle lit, some softish music playing and me working on my book. titled 'You've Got the Job'
God's Surprising Assignments.
Can I be honest with you all?
It's been a real journey with this project, for years I've had ideas running through my head about Bible characters and how they were rarely if ever prepared for what they were asked to do. I've wanted to take these myriad of thoughts and write them down, craft them into something interesting, fresh and helpful.
During lockdown it all really started to pour out, my ambition was high, my goals were set and I was creating, at least 5 of my planned 16 chapters were complete. Then lockdown stopped, life kicked in big time, it felt as though the river of writing had run dry.
During a recent visit to America I started to feel the ni**le again, and it wasn't going away! That has led me to pick the project back up again, to dig in and see where God takes this book. #
Thanks for all the support over the years, I look forward to sharing much more about this book as it gets more and more formed:)
I was pleased to this blog article on the Home for Good page, there's a link to my book on there too, that's wonderful to see:)
'It had been more than two years since we had been approved as adoptive parents, so we entered the adoption process again from the very beginning.'

It’s my book ‘our road to adoption’ the story of our family and the great family of God
For quite a while I’ve been working on a book of our adoption story and with the book coming along, I’m attempting to build momentum toward a book launch on Amazon at some point when it’s a complete work. As people who either like or follow this page, do you know of anybody who would be interested in our story? If so please point them here, like the page, share posts and tell your friends.
