We’re pleased to announce that the 2024 Region III spring meeting will be held at the Westin in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The meeting will take place May 4 - 8, 2024, with half-day workshops occurring on May 4 - 5th.

The Sandy Barber Volunteer Award is given to an individual who has demonstrated an exceptional and enthusiastic commitment to volunteerism in Region III.
Sandy Barber has personified the Region III volunteer spirit. Since joining NCURA in 2007, Sandy has consistently volunteered at regional and national meetings, managing the registration desk, assisting colleagues, and working to create a pleasant atmosphere and experience for all members. In addition, she has served as a volunteer coordinator, attendee experience coordinator, and program coordinator. Sandy has generously and enthusiastically volunteered in any capacity when needed or asked. In honor of her exemplary willingness to go above and beyond for the Region, the NCURA Region III Volunteer Award is named in her honor.
This year's winner is Melissa Freudenberger from the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture. Congrats Melissa!
The Pam Whitlock Rising Star Award is given to an individual who is in the early stages of their service to Region III, and has demonstrated willingness, enthusiasm, and dedication to the region. Pam Whitlock is widely known for sharing her knowledge and expertise through mentoring and is a highly regarded friend and colleague who is always willing to go the extra mile to make a difference. In recognition of her dedicated service to NCURA, the NCURA Region III Rising Star Service Award is named in her honor.
This years winner is Rebecca Wessinger from the University of South Carolina. Pam Whitlock was at the RIII spring meeting to present the award. Congrats Rebecca!
The Distinguished Service Award is presented to an individual who has more than ten years of volunteer experience with Region III and has made outstanding contributions to the field of Research Administration.
Originally announced at the RIII spring meeting, this year's winner is Kay Gilstrap from Georgia State University. Congrats Kay!

The NCURA Cares Shower Outreach program helps those in need locally by creating hygiene kits. By donating one night's worth of hotel shower toiletries, flamingos help provide necessities for a clean shower to those in need. NCURA Volunteers will be collecting these hygiene kits throughout the conference at the Registration Table so that we can bring them to those in need at the end of the conference. Volunteer to provide assistance with donation collections and show how NCURA Cares! Please bring items between 7:30 AM - 12:00 PM each day.
