Two special little outfits, for two special little (getting more grown-up every day) girls 💙🩷

Phoebe and Rose like to shop as much as their Mummy ~ and asked if they could have dresses which were “the same, but still different” so, when they spied these dresses they were delighted!

I was able to match up these pretty berets and add some embroidered lace embellishment to compliment the embroidery design on the collars, and also added some pearls, flowers and matching velvet bows! 🎀

I may be biased.. but these are definitely 2 of my favourite berets and outfits 😄🌸💛

Friday has come around again, and what a week it’s been!
Between final orders going out, to a school inspection, to getting our home ready for being put up for sale.. and preparing for our farewell at church this Sunday .. a lot of ‘big things’ in a short space of time.
In all the going’s on of this week, I’m reminded of this quote from Elisabeth Elliot:

“If you believe in a God who controls the big things, you have to believe in a God who controls the little things. It is we, of course, to whom things look “little” or “big.”

What a wise and godly woman she was!

Goodbyes are never easy.. it’s like coming to the end of a book you have thoroughly loved, and don’t want to finish, but you know you have to 🩷

Yet, as our denomination is really one big, extended family (what a blessing in many ways!).. God has given me help to see it as a “See you soon” rather than a final “Goodbye”, as we move from one church family to the next.

I am excited to see what He has planned for the church we have served in and love so much, and the new church that I have no doubt He will help us settle in to, and love dearly as well 🩷

God’s grace is truly abundant and amazing 💛

*I nearly forgot to mention this beret! A beautiful lilac shade (100% wool) with carefully placed and hand sewn lilac and pale pink faux pearl beads. Such a pretty design and so versatile 💜

✨ Big Changes Ahead ✨

A little life update…
Paul has recently received and accepted a call to minister in another congregation. The past number of weeks have been unsettling and emotional as Paul sought the will of God, and we contemplated the possibility of a complete upheaval for our family with a change of church, school and home - as well as saying goodbye to a congregation we know and love so dearly, and have had the joy of serving alongside for the last five years.

It has also been a time where we have known that “peace of God which passeth all understanding”, as God has guided Paul so clearly through His Word, showing him that His perfect will for our family is to step out in faith, and follow where He is leading and opening doors.

I’d really appreciate your prayers, especially over the next weeks and months, as we help our children navigate the difficult steps of saying goodbye to their friends in a school we all adore and have become such a part of, and bidding farewell - or more - “See you soon”, to our wonderful church family in Dromore, and then settling in to our new surroundings and becoming part of a new church family ❤️.

We are sad to have to close this chapter in our life and Paul’s ministry, but also so thankful that God is guiding us to begin a new one, and we are excited to see what He will do in this new place of service.

There truly is no better place to be than in the centre of God’s will!

So, in regard to Cotton Rose. I’ll be taking some time off with my order book closing this Wednesday. All current orders and pre-orders will still be completed, and I may have some ready to purchase pieces which I’ll share on here, but I feel it’s best that Cotton Rose has a short break while we focus on the upcoming move and, afterwards, on settling in to our new home.

It was great to hear back at my table last week, taking and working on the first orders of 2024!

Paul was away for the week, and the children and I were settling back into school routines, so that’s where my focus was - and this page took a little bit of a back seat!

So my order book has officially reopened!

I’m taking orders as usual - and they will have a 10-14 day turnaround depending on your order type, and unless otherwise agreed.

I’m also on to share another pre-Christmas order which was pretty special ✨🌸 …

A customer knew her sister was getting something lovely made out of this tartan fabric, and so wanted a bespoke beret to match! I was provided with a small sample of fabric, and some suggestions for a design. I created this twist rose, lace & pearl design to sew on to a wool beret ~ making it truly a beret which was designed to match perfectly.

I’m so pleased with how it turned out, and hopefully the recipient is, too! 😄🌸✨🩷

The first Monday, of the first month of a new year. It’s strange that Christmas which was just a number of days ago, is now further away than ever!

I’ve still a week at home with the little loves before the bigger 3 are back to school, which is super!

Today we’re planning on wrapping up warm and going for a walk & picnic 🧺✨ .. tomorrow will be de-Christmassing the house, and Wednesday it’s back to work at Cotton Rose Designs, as my order book reopens!

I’m excited to make a start on 2024 orders - but just thought I’d share one of the final customer orders of 2023: these beautifully embellished, 100% wool berets. Such pretty detail, and 2 lovely colours! 🌸✨🩷

This skirt didn’t make it into my shopping basket, but it is stunning!

I thought I would put together a final ‘outfit inspiration’ for 2023 - so I have matched the skirt up with some pretty pink heels, and - of course - a beautiful Cotton Rose beret! 🌸✨

The skirt does come with a matching top, which, together are stunning and would make for a beautiful occasion outfit - especially if you need a different size for top & bottom, or are a nursing Mama but still want an outfit that looks like a dress, then this idea would be perfect for you!

But I also think this dress would be beautiful paired with a fine knit top in either ivory or the pale pink. It would really make the skirt ‘pop’!
