No matter what anyone says… Your social media space is yours and yours alone.

If your social media feed makes you anxious, depressed, doubt yourself, question your worth, hate your body, hold you back, etc; change your feed.

Unfollow and unfriend the people and accounts (yes, family included) that make you feel like trash.

I’m in the process of this, myself. Unfollowing negative influences, one at a time. 🖤

I’m finding my way back to myself.

Life with has left me in a dissociative state for years.

I’m now learning how to truly be present.

I’m learning how to be intimate again, even though I feel awkward and anxious about it.

I’m learning how to have fun again, realizing *debilitating* pain doesn’t control me anymore.

I’ve got energy again.

I’ve got goals again.

I get to live again. My quality of life has improved tenfold.

Big things are happening, and that overwhelms me at times.

I couldn’t have done it without expert endometriosis excision and a total hysterectomy to treat . Surgery was the first step.

I’m in pelvic floor physical therapy and pain is becoming less and less as I get stronger (and learn how to relax). It’s a slow process.

I’m four months postop and I’m living life again.

If you’re experiencing debilitating pelvic pain, it’s not normal. Common, yes. Normal, no. Get a second or third opinion. Fight for answers, especially when it feels impossible. You know your body better than anyone else.

3.5 months postop 💛

To be honest, I really thought I’d be at 100% by now. I’ve since learned that seven years of chronic pain doesn’t just disappear after a MAJOR surgery.

I feel the best I have in years, and I’m hard on myself for not being 100%. Logically I know I’m on track. Emotionally, mentally and sexually, hurry the f**k up already.

I’m doing big s**t only 3.5 months after having organs removed and a TON of peritoneum excised, curing and sending into remission.

Excision is the first step. Pelvic floor pain other and underlying pain factors are being addressed as they arise. I’ve got a team of doctors: gynecologist, pelvic floor physical therapist, trauma therapist, internist, physiatrist, and an endometriosis surgeon helping me through this; and of course, my ever so patient husband. I love him so much 🥰

I’m so grateful modern (western) medicine advancements are giving me another chance at living a good quality of life. I actually have the will to live again. However, has been at the forefront as I continue to heal. Baby steps 👣

Healing isn’t linear, and being a human is hard.

Checking in. I’m 25 days post op and life is returning the normal I’d experienced prior to the beginning of my once chronic debilitating pain.

Yesterday I walked 7,500 steps 🤯 Yeah, you read that right. No pain after, either 💪🏼

Today I went to not one, but TWO stores for errands... all by MYSELF! My bladder no longer controls me 🥰

Real talk: In the last two months, I’ve had two family members die 💔

I don’t have words that come easily (like they once did) as my emotions are jumbled (why I picked this photo) 😆

It’s been 9 days... and the constant fires of endometriosis and adenomyosis are fading away.

Dull aches are present, and lessen as I continue to heal.

With my mental health less clouded, my will to live is returning.

Yesterday was my first walk, no pain followed.

Last night, I slept 8 hours. It seems my body needs less sleep. That’s neat.

Yesterday was my last day of taking nsaids every 3 hours.

I feel like I’ve woken from a living nightmare.

It feels surreal.

This is life, now I get to live it.

I’ve gotta learn to live all over again.

Baby steps.

Don’t ever stop fighting for answers.

I am in pain 24/7 and I don’t like to admit it. Pain tears all of my energy away and leaves me in a ball of anxious and depressed feels while it consumes me.

What I thought was “in my head” was actually the *inoperable per the doctor* lesions on my bladder, starting to flare up in June 2020.

I went to pelvic floor physical therapy because that was the next step. helped me address chronic holding patterns, but I did not see improvement in in six months.

I started doing so much research via Endo Girls Blog, The Happy Pelvis, Yellowbowsxo and many more advocates, and they led me to finding real endometriosis experts.

December ‘20, I’d informed my physical therapist (PT) I was seeking additional help. She said “you don’t need any more surgeries, I can help you,” and that was the end of the conversation.

January ‘21, I made my appointment with a minimally invasive gynecological surgeon who specializes in endometriosis at the Mayo Clinic. Amazing! My PT again said I don’t need expert care. I ignored her opinion and knew I was doing the right thing.

I met my doctor February 1 and it was incredible to be heard, seen, and validated in the pain I’m experiencing. We discussed all options for treatment and I knew I wanted excision.

The kicker? Opening the discussion around , which I knew was coming, hit me like a brick on my chest. Thankfully, I knew I had time since we had to get an mri to see if endometriosis was deeply infiltrating.

I informed my PT of potential outcomes, she said I need a second opinion and stonewalled me. I fired her.

We went over the MRI results on February 17. The results determined no deeply infiltrating endometriosis 🥳 However, there were signs of on my uterus.

I’ve made the decision to go through with a aka and it ALL happens on March 31st!

This is my second excision surgery and I’m so ready. What scares me the most is breaking up with my uterus, so I’ve used humor and to get me through.
