The same owners as the well-known go to places for great service, food and drinks - NOA and Guerrilla Cairns which are both located in Edge Hill and Mama Coco on Mulgrave Road have opened another great venue in Stratford Palooka. We just ordered drinks but they nailed the service. We will be back.
Thank you Billie McDonnell, Davey O'Rourke and Sam Byrd, for opening another great venue with great service here in Cairns.

That's not my job!!!
A guest or a customer is visiting your establishment for an experience. It is your job to ensure that they receive the service one should expect when parting their hard earned money for either a holiday, special meal, celebratory drinks. What ever the occasion is they are there to enjoy and experience your establishment.
There is nothing worse than hearing a staff member tell a customer that "It's not my job". Although it may not be ones job but it's their job to find someone that can solve the guests query or request.
A customer may ask the bar tender to take their food order. Instead of saying that's not my job the bar tender can say "I will find a waiter to come and take your order".
No matter what the request is, let the customer know that you will find someone that can assist them.

There are times that we have unhappy guests and we need to turn the service around. ππ€¬π
This may include giving complimentary food or drinks.
Just because they are complimentary doesn't mean we don't account for these as they still need to be accounted for. How? Complete a complimentary form and provide to the relevant department to be costed in the appropriate account.

We should never say no to our valued guest as a first response.
Here is a 5 minute training to add to your service briefings.
Ask your team to give examples on phrases they can use instead of saying "No".
Your restaurant briefing is more than a meeting. It should be conducted before a service. It can make your team happier, more confident and your restaurant run smoother.
Your briefing at your restaurant should include:
β
Number of bookings
β
Assignment of tasks, sections
β
VIP/Special Guests
β
Group bookings
β
Special dietary needs
β
Food & Drink Specials
β
Non available items
β
Praise and constructive feedback

Short Training (Service etiquette/beverage/food knowledge)
Briefings should be consistent and no longer than 12-15 minutes. Team briefings will motivate your team, set them and your business up for success in the shift ahead.
