With the season now at a close I would like to thank all those that have helped me in 2022. Without the support that you give it would be impossible for me to get out on track so thank you once again.

Unfortunately due to a variety of different reasons I did not manage to get out on track anywhere near as much as I had hoped. With these other commitments continuing into 2023 it has now come the time to sell my equipment and concentrate on my other commitments. As with any sport “never say never” but for the foreseeable future I won’t be getting back on a bike.
On Sunday (22/05) we raced down at Belgar Farm in the opening round of the 2022 Lydd Trophy in conjunction with Crayford Kestrels Speedway. With the sun shining it was an excellent days racing in which we hit some of our pre meeting targets, finishing in joint third place overall. Our last race of the meeting was a brilliant back and forth battle which although finishing in third place meant we went home with a smile on our face.

Tomorrow we head down to Belgar Farm (Lydd) for the first round of the 2022 Lydd Trophy. Like last season these will be run in conjunction with Crayford Kestrels Speedway home meetings. After a couple of good practices in recent weeks we are looking forward to our second race meeting of the season.
Today we went down to Belgar Farm for a practice session ahead of our first Lydd race meeting of the season in a couple of weeks.
A very enjoyable day with improvements made throughout the afternoon.
MEETING REPORT

THE OLD GUN SITE (IWADE)
Last weekend we took part in a in house second half tournament as part of Kent Royals Speedway’s opening home meeting of the season. The purpose of the tournament was to give those in the newly formed Sittingbourne Crusaders MSDL team (that I shall be managing) some added track time and competitive practice. Because of this I decided to ride myself to give me a little more practice as well as keeping a close eye on how the other riders were getting on.
The tournament was run over two qualifying heats and a semi final. Unfortunately the finals had to be scrapped due to the main National League meeting over running. Although I felt like I hadn’t rode my best, my gating had finally returned which meant I was making better starts that last season. It was pleasing to finish with one race win and two second places. This meant a total of 7 points (3-2-2) which was enough to finish in second place overall!

Last Sunday (10/04) we headed down to Lydd Speedway for our first practice of the season. On a tricky track I felt that it went extremely well as was really pleased with how the day went, even a slide off in my last practice couldn’t dampen my mood.
A brilliant start to the season and we now look to push on even more in our next outing 👊
