Still one of my favorite songs. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.
Forgot to share this yesterday 😊
It took all of my willpower not to crawl under that bottom part of the coffee table 🤣🤣
Congratulations for being in in Fargo! It brought such a smile to my face to see you on the cover🫶.
Absolutely loved stopping by this place
Hoping to head over to Front Street's open mic tonight!
Well, it worked on me.
What does protection mean to you? How do you protect your energy?
After I sustained an energetic injury that had massive physical implications for my body, I got a massage and energy work, as well as instruction for prevention of future injuries of this kind. It was a significant shift to my worldview and sent me on a healing journey that I am still traversing.
The idea of energetic protection had never occurred to me. We are so very based in our physical reality and spiritual things feel very separate from our everyday lives. Because of this, I did not know that I was subjecting myself to harmful circumstances every single day.
Since that time, I have learned to “observe and not absorb” the energies around me. Part of this has been understanding the necessity of meditation. This video was instrumental in helping me start my journey.

Since that initial experience, my understanding has deepened and grown, but being able to protect myself has remained an important part of my spiritual practice.
What about you? What kind of energetic protection do you use to help you navigate this complicated world?
This is what therapy looks like. Art therapy, anyway. It has been around a year since I started and it has been a transformative 12 months. I could say a lot more, but for now, I just want you to know that the hard work is worth it. Whatever you are going through right now just allow it and give it space to be. You don't have to fight big feelings. Let that emotion, that "energy in motion" move through you. It's creating something beautiful. You.

I've been a dad for almost 7 years now, but for the last, just over a month, I've been the dad of a 6-year-old daughter with type one diabetes. My wife has already posted about this and so if you know her you probably already know, but it's been a rough couple of weeks. There is so much that I didn't know and that I had to learn far too quickly. But with the help of so many amazing health care workers and the support of our families and community members, we have been adjusting to this new life.
I've really been working on myself over the last 3 or so years. I'm trying to become a more authentic version of myself so that my kids have permission to become whoever it is that they were meant to be. That is the hardest work I've ever had to do. It means acknowledging my imperfections and understanding that most if not all of them were a reaction to the situations I found myself in throughout my life. These painful realizations have made it possible to heal the wounds I have acquired over the years rather than just covering them up, the way so many of us are taught.
There is a lot that I have not yet done as a father and a lot that I've done that I never thought I'd have to do. But through it all, there is so much that I am thankful for. Today I'm grateful for everything I learned from my dad as well as everything he gave me the courage to learn on my own.
The world is evolving very quickly. Our lives can change in an instant. The only constant is the light we were given and that we bear to illuminate the way for ourselves and show the way to others.
As I'm writing this, I'm watching a fawn follow after her mother in the woods here in Fargo, not far from our house. The fawn just stumbled over a branch while walking through the woods. I can relate. Even when we follow the same path of those who have gone before us, sometimes we find obstacles that they didn't notice. In those moments it is not our job to feel bad about how we stumbled, but to find new ways to move on the path that God has placed us on.
On a lighter note: How did the ketchup find out the hot dog was cheating on him?
He mustard something.
Happy Father's Day everyone.
Here is my interview from North Dakota Today !
NDT - Singer, Songwriter James Bergman - May 30 recurring recording of North Dakota Today on KVLY
Just a heads up that I will be on North Dakota Today ... today. See you around 9:30!
40 in 3 days!!!
1. Yup, a honey farm🐝🍯. Working with bees is awesome. I am so grateful for all the lessons I learned during my time in the family business.
2. Mennonite. 🧔♀️✝️But not, like, horse and buggy Mennonite. Our church community was a big part of life growing up. Though a lot of my views have changed (significantly), I am still grateful for that upbringing, even as I sort through some of the baggage it gave me.
3. 🇨🇦🥌Sorry, I should have mentioned I was from Canada earlier. Sorry...
I love being from Canada. Free healthcare? Yes, please! Minimal gun violence? Wow, yeah, that would be great! Canada is an amazing country. It's just in a kind of rough neighborhood...
4. Oof. Yeah. 👨👦👨👶I'm the youngest. My brothers are pretty cool, but I still feel like there are times when I'm seen as the one who doesn't have it all figured out. And, yeah. I don't. But I KNOW I don't, which really helps
5. 🤐 That tricky /r/. My know what I'm talking about. I always thought it was a cruel joke my parents played on me for all my brothers to have names that I can't pronounce. I have since learned how to say that /r/ sound and became a speech language pathologist.
So, that's a bit about me. What about you? Who are you and why did you read this whole caption? Jk. Thanks for being here and I hope you have a great day!
It's Giving Hearts Day season! I just wanted to post this to remind you of the difference that you can make today and everyday. Keep up the great work!
The Cheshire Cat.
I'm so grateful for all the amazing opportunities I had last year. Thank you to all of you who have been supportive along the way.
Keep Getting Better, Del Rae🌞. A song I'm working on for a local treasure.
The gravel road.
Fargo singer-songwriter James Bergman wants people to see joy in all experiences A lifelong writer, a committed teacher and community advocate, Bergman’s music reflects a comforting relatability and understated humor, even when the subject matter skews on the dark side.
"You need to find what is genuinely yours to offer the world before you can make it a better place. Discovering your unique gift to bring to your community is your greatest opportunity and challenge. The offering of that gift—your true self—is the most you can do to love and serve the world. And it is all the world needs." —Bill Plotkin, Soulcraft
I love this quote. As a father and educator, I think our job is to be our true selves so our children have the courage to be whoever it is that they are meant to be. Thank you Courtney Schaff and Megan Myrdal for also sharing these incredible daily meditations. Link below.👇

It's here! Just ask your smart speaker to play Kissing Kassandra or find it anywhere you like to listen. Hope you enjoy this feel good jam!
I was so excited to have a table at Pride in the Park! And then I woke up sick.🙄
Happy🏳️🌈Pride🏳️🌈Everyone
That better world starts with us.
I wrote this one shortly after Parkland but have had to think of it too many times since then. Please feel free to learn (chords are included) and perform at rallies and marches.
Happy Spring!!!!
Choosing to have a child is a big decision. You should be ready and make that choice when the time is right for you.
