Are you hopping from one diet to the next over and over hoping to see changesโฆ
Unfortunately this wonโt help you lose weight and in fact might be the opposite.
Here is what happens when you are constantly restricting caloriesโฆ
- your metabolism downregulates which leads to you only being able to see progress with lower and lower calorie intake.
And more than likely, any results you did seeโฆ you lost and thatโs why you tried something different.
Sound familiar? Weโve all been there. We live in a social media world that is plastered with the next new thing. When in fact itโs really simple/
Any diet you follow can result in weight lost.
But how good is it really, if you have to change your whole lifestyle to get there and lose the results anyways.
My diet cycle for years was
Diet (restrict/eliminate certain foods) โ> keep it up for a few weeks โ> Binge eat all the things I eliminated for a weekend cause i was not seeing results fast enough โ> started all over again on the following mondayโฆ. over and over again.
What your diet cycle should look like
Small reduction of total calories, not excluding any foods โ> Diet break โ> second round of deficit if needed โ-> reverse diet up to maintenance calories. Live in maintenance calories for at least 4/6 months or forever unless you still want / need to do another fat loss /deficit phase.
This allows for less adaptation on your metabolism, better long term results and is sustainable since it is based on your currently lifestyle !! You are not meant to constantly be dieting. Our bodies thrive with food, being on a low cal diet for so long only does more damage than good.
