Bowling league
Turkey Shoot this Saturday. Cost is $1.00 please give to Don before game time if you want to get in.
Week 1
Next Saturday is week 26 of our season. That means that there are only five more weeks of regular bowling. If you have not already paid for the final two weeks of the season, you only have five weeks to do so. After that, any past due amounts will be removed from your team’s prize money. Please pay for these weeks right away!!
Week 28, on March 16th, will be the last week that a new sub may join the league.
Week 29, on March 23rd, will be the night we nominate league officers for next season.
Week 30, on March 30, will be election night to determine officers for next season. Only team captains will vote, but it is expected that their vote will be determined by the choice of their entire team.
Week 31, on April 6th, will be the second position round and will determine the winner of the second half. If the half ends in a tie, a one game tie breaker will be held immediately after the regular league session. Subs may not be used for position rounds unless they are listed on the recap sheet as a full time member of the team. This is the week that numerous league members will be bowling in the John Deere tournament in Des Moines, so please plan accordingly. Remember, position rounds and roll offs may not be rescheduled.
Week 32, on April 13th, will be a roll off between the winner of the first half and the winner of the second half. Everyone else will bowl 9-pin games, just for fun. The first half winner will draw cards to determine what lanes they will bowl on, and I will assign lanes for all other teams. If not involved in the roll off, you may request another team to share lanes with. The roll off will use the same rules as the position rounds.
Week 33, on April 20th, will be the end of the season. We’ll all bowl 9-pin games for fun. I’ll make lane assignments, but you may request what team you would like to share lanes with. Linage will be paid from the prize fund. Pizza will be provided for all regular team members – meaning those listed on the recap sheets – from the prize fund. You are welcome to share the pizza with your children and guests for a slight charge if you give me advance notice. I suggest $2.00 for children 10 and under, and $5.00 for everyone else. Prize money, awards, and the final reports will also be handed out.
I would also like the captains to talk to their teams and let me know if they will be returning for the 2019-2020 season.
Let me know if you have any questions or suggestions about the rest of the season. See you next Saturday.
