Congratulations to Hunter Kirby who received the Richard Siegel Music Excellence Award for choir, and Anayantzi Paredes for receiving the same award for band! Mrs. Royer has done an amazing job with our music program and inspiring our students to find their voice and talent.

Congratulations to Ms. Dickerson, Ms. Jordan, and Ms. Watson for graduating Gifted Academy today! They have worked incredibly hard this school year learning all about gifted education and finding new ways to enrich our students’ lives through learning.

Our students soar because of the amazing teachers who continue to learn, grow, and thrive with them! Our achievements are what make us not only HobGOOD, but HobGREAT!

Congratulations to our student artists who were chosen to have their artwork displayed at the Frist Art Museum! We are in awe of all of the amazing accomplishments our students have achieved. Shoutout to our wonderful art teacher, Mrs. Potter, who keeps the passion for art alive in all of us!

We are so proud of one of Hobgood’s 3rd graders, Kyndall Sain, for writing her own book called “A Rainy Day” in partnership with Murfreesboro Water Resources Department! 3rd graders from Hobgood Elementary and Scales Elementary (where Kyndall attended prior joining us Hobgood!) can get a free book if they come to any of her book signing events listed. We have loved watching Kyndall make her dreams come true! 💙🚀

We are so thankful for Mrs. Mobley! She ignites a passion for reading in all of our students and makes them feel empowered every day!

⭐️ MCS Employee Spotlight ⭐️

Courtney Mobley is the Librarian at Hobgood Elementary. Mrs. Mobley started working at Northfield as an EA in 2018 and has been the Librarian since 2022. Mrs. Mobley enjoys sharing her love of reading with her students daily.

Mrs. Mobley's passion for education was inspired after her sixth grade teacher, Ms. Craig. Mrs. Mobley said, "I was important and I mattered in Ms. Craig’s class and that always stayed with me. I knew I wanted to, one day, make an impact in the lives of children just like she had."

Mrs. Mobley attended Northfield & Reeves-Rogers for elementary school.

Thank you to the extraordinary Nichole Bell, 6th grade teacher at Hobgood Elementary, for inviting me to speak to first- and second-year teachers in the Teacher Mentor program today. We talked about the role of the school board and how teachers -- even those just starting out -- can get involved in decision-making for the district. I'm grateful to Ms. Bell for all she pours into her students and fellow teachers, and I know the teachers in this program will be better educators because of her leadership.
