Sa mga topnotch na tournament, ang hirap humingi ng pabor for financial assistance sa mga politicians, private companies, atpb. Kaya justified din ang mga pag require ng mga 'appearance fee nila.. if invited sa mga occassion , at pagcharge ng royalty, if ginagamit ng mga private company's, ang popularity ng top player.
Tulad na lang ng supposed printed t-shirt from "Wesly So" na kanyang inalmahan. With intent to gain ng nakaraan lang. Aniya ng chessplayer, na itago nalang natin sa knyang chess battle cry pseudoname.. "Mandaluyong Attack_Bahala na Bukas" sa aming interview..

Eugene Torre, a legendary Filipino chess player, has won several individual medals in various competitions throughout his illustrious career. Here are some notable achievements:

In the 1974 Nice Chess Olympiad, Torre made history by winning the silver medal for his exceptional performance on Board 1, becoming the first Asian to achieve the title of Grandmaster.

Torre won three individual medals on Board 1 in the Chess Olympiad: a silver medal in Nice 1974 and bronze medals in Malta 1980 and Dubai 1986.

At the 2005 Southeast Asian Games, Torre secured a silver medal in the Men's Standard Team Event and a bronze medal in Men's Individual Rapid Chess.

In the 1993 Asian Chess Team Championships, Torre earned a bronze medal on Board 1 with an impressive performance.

At the age of 64, Torre won a bronze medal on Board 3 at the Baku 2016 Chess Olympiad, displaying his enduring skill and passion for the game.

These individual medals highlight Eugene Torre's exceptional talent, dedication, and contributions to the world of chess, solidifying his status as a pillar of Philippine chess.

The NCFP Chairman and President, Hon. Prospero A. Pichay Jr., wishes to announce the conduct of the Philippine National Chess Championship, "The Battle of the Grandmaster,” from December 27, 2023, to January 7, 2024, with the joint effort of the host and co-organizers from the office of the City Mayor of Marikina, Hon. Marcy Teodoro, together with his wife, Hon. Marjorie Ann "Maan" Teodoro, representative for Marikina's 1st congressional district, who also sponsor this national prestigious event with a hefty amount of total cash prizes of PHP 330,000.00. They also provide hotel accommodations with full meals for all competitors.

Alongside for this event are the participation of Eugene Torre Chess Foundation headed by founding president Asia's first grandmaster, GM Eugene Torre, Pan de Amerikana Proprietor Jundio Salvador. Likewise, this event is supported by Philippine Olympic Committee President Mayor Abraham N. Tolentino and in cooperation with Philippine Sports Commission Chairman Richard E. Bachmann.

Lawrence Charles Kaufman (born November 15, 1947) was awarded the GM title by winning the FIDE World Seniors Championship 2008 in Bad Zwischenahn, Germany. With a degree from MIT, Kaufman is one of the brains behind both the Rybka and KomodoChess engines.

He is one of the participants in the ongoing US Masters organized by the Charlotte Chess Center, where I am having a blast photographing all these interesting chess personalities!
