We were very happy to host the ATL TiNKER BOOTCAMP is association with our vendor. Students from different school SBOA Matric. Hr. Sec. School Chennai, SBIOA Model Matric. Hr. Sec. School Chennai, Govt. Girls high school mogappair along with our school student participated in the camp. Atal Innovation Mission

In a world of science and technology, it is important to encourage our future generations to take part in improving the world for a better future. In our school we instill innovative ideas in the minds of our children and sow seeds of interest in science and technology.

SBOA School & Junior College, Chennai was one of the schools to get selected among 257 schools in the 1st allotment. We have received a handsome fund of ten lakhs.
Initially we had no clue as to how to go about this programme. A seminar was attended by the teachers of our school at Bangalore in September 2017. Since then we have made drastic improvements to make the programme more innovative and interesting for our students.
We officially inaugurated our ATAL tinkering lab on the 25th of October. It was inaugurated by the eminent scientist Professor Balaji Srinivasan from IIT Chennai in the presence of our secretary and correspondent. On that occasion a Tinkering marathon was conducted. Students showcased their talents through innovative projects such as
 Mosquito eradicating float
 Smart dust bin
 Smart mobility
 Car for the hearing impaired
 Automatic irrigation

• INTERNET OF THINGS WORKSHOP
A workshop was conducted on the 22nd of August, 2017. A team of trainees from VELS university gave an enlightening introduction to INTERNET OF THINGS.

Since October regular classes have been conducted for the students of grade 6,7,8,9 and 10.
EVOBI AUTOMATIONS PVT LTD on the 16th and 17th of March 2018, conducted an orientation programme and the following models were developed:
 Automatic railway gate
 Smart classrooms
 Helping hand
 Water level indicating alarm

COMMUNITY DAY :
It was held on two consecutive days, 13th and 14th of April. Posters depicting the need of ATL community day were well elaborated and displayed in our lab.
On the first day students from Ajay Hr. sec school for the hearing impaired visited our school and were given hands on training in the ways of electronics. They were also given a clear insight on the workings of the circuits etc.
On the second day orthopedically challenged students from the Guild of service attended the workshop and were enlightened by the knowledge of electricals.
ROBOTIC WORKSHOP:
It was conducted by Arcomm tech solutions PVT. LTD. For two consecutive days, 19th and 20th of April for students of grade 8 and 9.
TRAINING PROGRAMMES:
 Training of students of SBOA model matric school was conducted on the 28th of January 2018.
 Training of students of the government girls Hr. sec school, mogappair was conducted on the 4th, 5th and 6th of July 2018.
 Training of students of SBOA global school was conducted on the 22nd of June 2018.

The students were made well versed in the workings of the electronics available in the lab.

The tinkering lab has motivated, encouraged and enlightened students to think forward and make sure that the growth of science is strong. We hope to do more to enlighten more young minds.

SBOAJCATL team proudly conducted community day 2018 on 13/04/2018 & 14/04/2018 by inviting 24 students from Ajay Hr.Sec School for Hearing Impaired,Chennai-50 on 13/04/2018 & 8 orthographically challenged students from Guild of Service, Chennai.
It was an amazing experience to work with these students.
