Blessings on this sabbath and always our sisters and brothers in Christ Jesus!

The day we behold the eternal glory of our Heavenly Father, His unmeasurable love and mercy and compare to the temporary trials of this world, we can honestly say, “Heaven is cheap enough”.

Many are still tested as was Abraham. They do not hear the voice of God speaking directly from the heavens, but He calls them by the teachings of His word and the events of His providence. They may be required to abandon a career that promises wealth and honor, to leave congenial and profitable associations and separate from kindred, to enter upon what appears to be only a path of self-denial, hardship, and sacrifice. God has a work for them to do; but a life of ease and the influence of friends and kindred would hinder the development of the very traits essential for its accomplishment. He calls them away from human influences and aid, and leads them to feel the need of His help, and to depend upon Him alone, that He may reveal Himself to them. Who is ready at the call of Providence to renounce cherished plans and familiar associations? Who will accept new duties and enter untried fields, doing God's work with firm and willing heart, for Christ's sake counting his losses gain? He who will do this has the faith of Abraham, and will share with him that “far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory,” with which “the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared.” 2 Corinthians 4:17; Romans 8:18. . From the book Patriarchs and Prophets by E.G. White

Of the vast population of the earth before the Flood, only eight souls believed and obeyed God's word through Noah. For a hundred and twenty years the preacher of righteousness warned the world of the coming destruction, but his message was rejected and despised. So it will be now. Before the Lawgiver shall come to punish the disobedient, transgressors are warned to repent, and return to their allegiance; but with the majority these warnings will be in vain. Says the apostle Peter, “There shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, and saying, Where is the promise of His coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning.” 2 Peter 3:3, 4. Do we not hear these very words repeated, not merely by the openly ungodly, but by many who occupy the pulpits of our land? “There is no cause for alarm,” they cry. “Before Christ shall come, all the world is to be converted, and righteousness is to reign for a thousand years. Peace, peace! all things continue as they were from the beginning. Let none be disturbed by the exciting message of these alarmists.” But this doctrine of the millennium does not harmonize with the teachings of Christ and His apostles. Jesus asked the significant question, “When the Son of man cometh, shall He find faith on the earth?” Luke 18:8. And, as we have seen, He declares that the state of the world will be as in the days of Noah. Paul warns us that we may look for wickedness to increase as the end draws near: “The Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils.” 1 Timothy 4:1. The apostle says that “in the last days perilous times shall come.” 2 Timothy 3:1. And he gives a startling list of sins that will be found among those who have a form of godliness.
As the time of their probation was closing, the antediluvians gave themselves up to exciting amusements and festivities. Those who possessed influence and power were bent on keeping the minds of the people engrossed with mirth and pleasure, lest any should be impressed by the last solemn warning. Do we not see the same repeated in our day? While God's servants are giving the message that the end of all things is at hand, the world is absorbed in amusements and pleasure seeking. There is a constant round of excitement that causes indifference to God and prevents the people from being impressed by the truths which alone can save them from the coming destruction. . Make no mistake about it. As in the days of Noah, God will some day judge this world. Having said this, repent for now is the day of salvation.

2 Corinthians 6:1-2 KJV
We then, as workers together with Him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain. (For He saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)

As sin became general, it appeared less and less sinful, and they finally declared that the divine law was no longer in force; that it was contrary to the character of God to punish transgression; and they denied that His judgments were to be visited upon the earth. PP 95.3

It was not multitudes or majorities that were on the side of right. The world was arrayed against God's justice and His laws, and Noah was regarded as a fanatic. Satan, when tempting Eve to disobey God, said to her, “Ye shall not surely die.” Genesis 3:4. Great men, worldly, honored, and wise men, repeated the same. “The threatenings of God,” they said, “are for the purpose of intimidating, and will never be verified. You need not be alarmed. Such an event as the destruction of the world by the God who made it, and the punishment of the beings He has created, will never take place. Be at peace; fear not. Noah is a wild fanatic.” The world made merry at the folly of the deluded old man. Instead of humbling the heart before God, they continued their disobedience and wickedness, the same as though God had not spoken to them through His servant. PP 96.1

Blessings always!

The greatness of our transgression.

The sacrificial offerings were ordained by God to be to man a perpetual reminder and a penitential acknowledgment of his sin and a confession of his faith in the promised Redeemer. They were intended to impress upon the fallen race the solemn truth that it was sin that caused death. To Adam, the offering of the first sacrifice was a most painful ceremony. His hand must be raised to take life, which only God could give. It was the first time he had ever witnessed death, and he knew that had he been obedient to God, there would have been no death of man or beast. As he slew the innocent victim, he trembled at the thought that his sin must shed the blood of the spotless Lamb of God. This scene gave him a deeper and more vivid sense of the greatness of his transgression, which nothing but the death of God's dear Son could expiate. And he marveled at the infinite goodness that would give such a ransom to save the guilty. A star of hope illumined the dark and terrible future and relieved it of its utter desolation.
But the plan of redemption had a yet broader and deeper purpose than the salvation of man. It was not for this alone that Christ came to the earth; it was not merely that the inhabitants of this little world might regard the law of God as it should be regarded; but it was to vindicate the character of God before the universe. To this result of His great sacrifice—its influence upon the intelligences of other worlds, as well as upon man—the Saviour looked forward when just before His crucifixion He said: “Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out. And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all unto Me.” John 12:31, 32. The act of Christ in dying for the salvation of man would not only make heaven accessible to men, but before all the universe it would justify God and His Son in their dealing with the rebellion of Satan. It would establish the perpetuity of the law of God and would reveal the nature and the results of sin.
From the first the great controversy had been upon the law of God. Satan had sought to prove that God was unjust, that His law was faulty, and that the good of the universe required it to be changed. In attacking the law he aimed to overthrow the authority of its Author. In the controversy it was to be shown whether the divine statutes were defective and subject to change, or perfect and immutable.
When Satan was thrust out of heaven, he determined to make the earth his kingdom. When he tempted and overcame Adam and Eve, he thought that he had gained possession of this world; “because,” said he, “they have chosen me as their ruler.” He claimed that it was impossible that forgiveness should be granted to the sinner, and therefore the fallen race were his rightful subjects, and the world was his. But God gave His own dear Son—one equal with Himself—to bear the penalty of transgression, and thus He provided a way by which they might be restored to His favor, and brought back to their Eden home. Christ undertook to redeem man and to rescue the world from the grasp of Satan. The great controversy begun in heaven was to be decided in the very world, on the very same field, that Satan claimed as his.
It was the marvel of all the universe that Christ should humble Himself to save fallen man. That He who had passed from star to star, from world to world, superintending all, by His providence supplying the needs of every order of being in His vast creation—that He should consent to leave His glory and take upon Himself human nature, was a mystery which the sinless intelligences of other worlds desired to understand. When Christ came to our world in the form of humanity, all were intensely interested in following Him as He traversed, step by step, the bloodstained path from the manger to Calvary. Heaven marked the insult and mockery that He received, and knew that it was at Satan's instigation. They marked the work of counteragencies going forward; Satan constantly pressing darkness, sorrow, and suffering upon the race, and Christ counteracting it. They watched the battle between light and darkness as it waxed stronger. And as Christ in His expiring agony upon the cross cried out, “It is finished” (John 19:30), a shout of triumph rang through every world and through heaven itself. The great contest that had been so long in progress in this world was now decided, and Christ was conqueror. His death had answered the question whether the Father and the Son had sufficient love for man to exercise self-denial and a spirit of sacrifice. Satan had revealed his true character as a liar and a murderer. It was seen that the very same spirit with which he had ruled the children of men who were under his power, he would have manifested if permitted to control the intelligences of heaven. With one voice the loyal universe united in extolling the divine administration.
If the law could be changed, man might have been saved without the sacrifice of Christ; but the fact that it was necessary for Christ to give His life for the fallen race, proves that the law of God will not release the sinner from its claims upon him. It is demonstrated that the wages of sin is death. When Christ died, the destruction of Satan was made certain. But if the law was abolished at the cross, as many claim, then the agony and death of God's dear Son were endured only to give to Satan just what he asked; then the prince of evil triumphed, his charges against the divine government were sustained. The very fact that Christ bore the penalty of man's transgression is a mighty argument to all created intelligences that the law is changeless; that God is righteous, merciful, and self-denying; and that infinite justice and mercy unite in the administration of His government. . Those Hands

Those hands formed man out of dust.

When God became flesh, those baby hands held His mother's fingers.

As a young boy, those hands picked up pieces of wood for Joseph, His stepfather.

When He started His ministry, He spat on a blind man’s eyes, placed those hands over his eyes and restored his sight.

When He saw the multitudes, He prayed and those hands distributed five loaves and two fish to over five thousand people.

When arrested those hands were tied to a post while Roman soldiers scourged His back, then those trembling, bloody hands carried a cross to Golgotha.

His arms were stretched and those hands were nailed to a wooden cross.

When He resurrected, He asked Thomas to touch those scarred hands. Thomas then replied, "My Lord, my God".

Those hands are the same ones knocking at your door.

Genesis 2:7 KJV
And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

John 1:14 KJVAnd the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Luke 2:19 KJV
But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.

Mark 6:3 KJVIs not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not His sisters here with us?

Mark 8:23-25 KJVAnd He took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when He had spit on his eyes, and put His hands upon him, He asked him if he saw ought. And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking. After that He put His hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly.

Matthew 14:19 KJVAnd He commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, He blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to His disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.

Psalms 22:16 KJV
For dogs have compassed Me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed Me: they pierced My hands and My feet.

John 19:17 KJV
And He bearing His cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha:

John 20:27-29 KJVThen saith He to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold My hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into My side: and be not faithless, but believing. And Thomas answered and said unto Him, My Lord and my God. Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen Me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

Revelation 3:20 KJV
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me.

This message is a bit long, but if you accept it it will change your life. God’s Word does not return void but shall prosper wherever He sends it (Isaiah 55:11).

Kill the Giant

It’s a real battle for our minds. For example, you can receive a very positive and encouraging message (based on God’s Word) that breathes hope, peace and joy into your heart and soul. However, soon after your eyes and mind focus on other things and eventually pushes God’s Word out of your mind. Sadly, it appears that many contemporary Christians are not very effective in spreading the love and message of God due to the fact that they are easily distracted by our environment. Worldly media is probably the number one reason why we are not effective. Most of today’s media not only does not portray the true character of God, but sometimes is blatantly anti God. Most people don’t realize that media sensationalism is very detrimental to our thinking, attitudes and faith. It creates doubts, uncertainty, fear, robs our mind of the true character of God and makes us forget all His wonderful promises. In other words, the giant we are facing today is secular media. However, the solution is easy. The stone that kills the giant is simply to stop watching secular media. Yes, it is that easy. Please consider what I’m saying. Would you be willing to give up watching and listening to secular media and music for a week, a month or for the rest of your life? I know it can be a struggle, but it pains my heart to know so many people are enjoying the pleasures of this world more than finding all pleasure in spending time with our loving Heavenly Father. Instead of worldly pleasures you can show God how much you really love Him by reading the Bible, praying every day, listening to godly hymns and watching or listening to sound biblical teachings on YouTube or other sources. If you have a problem giving up worldly television, ask God to help you. Seriously consider giving God a chance. He is faithful and willing to reveal His plan and purpose for your life. When your mind is on Him you will gain an abundant life full of love, acceptance, joy, peace, strength, health and prosperity because that’s what He desires for you to have, only the best. What parent does not give his children the best? How much more God? You have nothing to lose but so much to gain. Surround yourself with the Lord and don’t allow the world to push Him out of your mind. Surrender these worldly influences, meditate on His Word daily and allow Him to work mightily in your life. This is not my opinion, this is His promise.

Below we’ve listed some excellent suggestions including pastors, books and praise music you can enjoy listening and reading. We’ll be praying for God to reveal His life changing love to you in a very powerful, special and intimate way.

Psalm 101:3 KJV
I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.

Philippians 4:8-9 KJV
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

Isaiah 26:3 KJV
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee: because he trusteth in Thee.

Romans 12:2 KJV
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Psalm 1:1-3 KJV
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in His law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

2 Peter 1:4 KJV
Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

I am not my own, I am Yours. Before I drew a breath I was loved and known by You. I have life only because you breathed the breath of life into my nostrils. Thank You Heavenly Father that I am precious and worthy in Your eyes, even when I don’t feel it. Thank You for demonstrating Your love on the cross and pouring Your Holy Spirit into me. I live because You live and are inside of me. You bring me joy when there’s nothing to be joyful about. You give me peace even in the middle of the storm. Your love is new every minute of every day. I seek You daily and You never fail to fill me up. I am only complete when I feel You by my side. There is nothing outside of You that satisfies me. I have everything because I have You. Because of Your faithfulness, there is assurance and peace in Your promises. You are not something that I made up, but You are the One that made me. I am not my own, I am Yours.

Genesis 2:7 KJV
And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

John 14:19 KJV

Psalm 16:11 KJV
Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in Thy presence is fulness of joy; at Thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

Not Important - "I don’t know how God is going to provide."
Important - "I do know that God will provide."
Thank Him in advance for what He promises to provide.

Matthew 14:15-21 KJV
[15] And when it was evening, His disciples came to Him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals. [16] But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat. [17] And they say unto Him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes. [18] He said, Bring them hither to Me. [19] And He commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, He blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to His disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. [20] And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full. [21] And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children.

Following are notes from one of Dr. Charles F. Stanley’s sermons. He lived a very special life of obedience leaving a godly legacy that continues to guide and encourage us. An example for us all. Well done good and faithful servant.

Faith – the confident conviction that God is who He says He is and will do what He promised.

Cause of wavering faith – When trusting in God conflicts with human reason

Ask the following questions – Where do these doubts come from? Has God ever failed me? Did God not promise to meet all my needs? Did God not give me the Holy Spirit to enable me? Did God not promise to be with me all the time? Is anything too hard for God? Where should my focus be?

Blessings on this sabbath and always our sisters and brothers in Christ Jesus!

God knows the number of hairs on our head. Why is this verse included in the Bible? For the simple reason that God desires for us to know that He is our loving Creator who knows us and all our individual needs intimately (way, way more than we). He knows our past, present and future. And despite all of our shortcomings, He longs and desires for us to know Him personally. He waits for us to be still and surrender to Him in order for Him to reveal His perfect will and plan for our lives. A plan that fulfills every detailed and tailored need. A plan that does not rely on our self-sufficiency, but a complete trust and dependence on Him. Not a plan that leaves Him with all the work, but that enables Him to work through us.

Fact:
The capitalized form "IN GOD WE TRUST" first appeared on the two-cent piece in 1864 and initially only appeared on coins, but it gradually became accepted among Americans.

God desires an intimate and personal relationship with us and for each one of us to truthfully say, “In God I trust”.

Luke 12:6-7 KJV
Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.

Philippians 4:19 KJV
But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Matthew 6:33 KJV
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Jeremiah 29:11 KJV
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Philippians 2:13 KJV
For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure.

Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.

Note: Proverbs 3:5-6 was often quoted by Dr. Charles F. Stanley who passed away this week. Thank you so much for diligently and tirelessly sharing our Lord. The Shepherd was inside of you and His sheep know His voice. Rest in peace Dr. Stanley.

Beautiful commentary.
The Acts of the Apostles - E.G. White

Point after point Paul lingered over, in order that those who should read his epistle might fully comprehend the wonderful condescension of the Saviour in their behalf. Presenting Christ as He was when equal with God and with Him receiving the homage of the angels, the apostle traced His course until He had reached the lowest depths of humiliation. Paul was convinced that if they could be brought to comprehend the amazing sacrifice made by the Majesty of heaven, all selfishness would be banished from their lives. He showed how the Son of God had laid aside His glory, voluntarily subjecting Himself to the conditions of human nature, and then had humbled Himself as a servant, becoming obedient unto death, “even the death of the cross” (Philippians 2:8), that He might lift fallen man from degradation to hope and joy and heaven. . AA 333.1
When we study the divine character in the light of the cross we see mercy, tenderness, and forgiveness blended with equity and justice. We see in the midst of the throne One bearing in hands and feet and side the marks of the suffering endured to reconcile man to God. We see a Father, infinite, dwelling in light unapproachable, yet receiving us to Himself through the merits of His Son. The cloud of vengeance that threatened only misery and despair, in the light reflected from the cross reveals the writing of God: Live, sinner, live! ye penitent, believing souls, live! I have paid a ransom.
In the contemplation of Christ we linger on the shore of a love that is measureless. We endeavor to tell of this love, and language fails us. We consider His life on earth, His sacrifice for us, His work in heaven as our advocate, and the mansions He is preparing for those who love Him, and we can only exclaim, O the height and depth of the love of Christ! “Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” “Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God.” 1 John 4:10; 3:1.
In every true disciple this love, like sacred fire, burns on the altar of the heart. It was on the earth that the love of God was revealed through Christ. It is on the earth that His children are to reflect this love through blameless lives. Thus sinners will be led to the cross to behold the Lamb of God. . AA 333.2-AA 334.1

Blessings on this sabbath and always our sisters and brothers in Christ Jesus!

Thank You Lord for opening my eyes to Your amazing love. To witness the unselfish act of leaving Your kingdom and to willingly give up Your life to save mine. Like the prodigal son’s father, You never gave up and deeply desired that some day I would come back home. Then one day You heard my call. And when I was yet far away, You saw me and ran towards me. You couldn’t wait to show how much joy You felt because of my decision to come back to You. You had every right to wait for me to come to You, but Your unconditional love and compassion showed me that You couldn’t wait to come to me.

John 6:38-40 KJV
For I came down from heaven, not to do Mine own will, but the will of Him that sent Me. And this is the Father's will which hath sent Me, that of all which He hath given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. And this is the will of Him that sent Me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on Him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Luke 15:10-24 KJV
Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth. And He said, A certain man had two sons: And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living. And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living. And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want. And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine. And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him. And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants. And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him. And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son. But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet: And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it ; and let us eat, and be merry: For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.
