Hey y’all, it’s been a while. Hope everyone’s been enjoying some time off uni wherever you may be. It’s about that time again when we start thinking about NEXT YEARS SKI TRIP!!!💃🪩🎿 We have signed another deal with NUCO to supply this year’s trip (which is an absolute stunner btw), and although we can’t share the location until we release it officially, we can tell you what airports are nearest, to allow you to book flights now while they’re cheaper😜 The nearest airports to the resort are Geneva, Grenoble, Lyon and Chambery. We recommend Geneva and Grenoble more so, as NUCO will have arranged transfers to resort, timed for when the most popular flights from Scotland will be arriving 🚌 So if you’re 100% sure you can and will be going on the trip (4th-11th Jan 2025), we recommend getting flights asap if you plan on flying, as they won’t be getting any cheaper.

And don’t worry about booking flights and not securing a place on the trip! If you book flights now, send us a screenshot of confirmation and we will be able to give you an early access code to book onto the trip to avoid missing out!!!🫶

😩Take us back😩
Guys, this year has been so special in so many ways and definitely one to remember for anyone who was a part of it. We have so much love for everyone who is part of the club, you guys are the reason we do it ❤️ This year we:
•Hosted the biggest student Halloween 🎃 night in Glasgow (over 1000 tickets sold😱)
•Had a legendary party on a boat in the pi***ng rain⛴️
•Had the most sign ups for lessons ever 🎿
•Smashed it at competitions yet again 🥶
•Took not one, but two incredible ski trips to the French alps 🇫🇷🗻
•Had some of the most memorable socials to date 🕺💃

All-round this year has been so much fun with some unforgettable moments. We’re so delighted with the amazing people we have as a part of this club and we’re excited to see what the next few years bring. The new committee has already started planning new projects for next year so it’s only gonna go up from here🫶One last massive thanks to the 23/24 committee and the members who make it all possible, we hope to see everyone back next term😘So this is us signing off for now, we’ll see you all in September for the new 24/25 season✌️

BOAT PARTY INFO

🛥️Boat party is coming up! So here’s some more details so we can set sail smoothly;

•Bus will leave GLASGOW UNI UNION at 4:15pm, be there for 4pm
•Boat will leave the pier at 5:45pm, so if you’re making your own way there, be there in plenty of time
•Boat will return to pier at 8:45pm, and bus back to Glasgow will leave at 9pm and arrive back at the union around 10pm

GLASGOW TAXIS CUP

It’s taxis time again people!!!🚕 For those who don’t know about Glasgow taxis cup, it’s a multi-university, multi-sport competition ran by Glasgow Taxis, to see who’s the best sporting university in Glasgow, between Strath (the good guys), GU (No comment) and GCU (also no comment).

The snowsports leg of the competition is held at Glasgow Ski centre on Tuesday the 12th of March. It is both skiing and snowboarding (racing and freestyle) with team events and individual winners. Strath took the W last year (obviously) so we want as many of you big shredders as possible to compete for us this year and put GCU and GU in their place yet again 💩.

And straight after we take the trophy, we’ll be heading to Bar Home for a Taxi 🚖 themed afterparty where everyone MUST wear Yellow or Black to fit the Taxis theme 🟡⚫️. With good tunes and the infamous bar home drinks deals (£2 tennents🤤), it’ll be a class night to celebrate winning yet again 😜 (everyone welcome, we need to outnumber the other unis 🫶)

its that time of year again where you get to decide who runs your club next year. we have had a great year; with the biggest socials this club has ever seen, more interest in lessons than any year before and once again we are faster and cooler than GU snow;). Not to forget the best Strathsnow trip we have had for a long time! this is because of the lovely members, so it is only fair that we let you, the lovely members, pick who runs your club (because we like to think we are a true democracy here at Strathsnow).

If you would like to run for a position there is a page set up called “Strathsnow AGM 2024”,

post what position you want to apply for, a description of why you would be a good fit for the role and a few photos of you doing silly s**t.

a couple of rules:

- to run for president you have to have served on the committee before. (and be cool as f**k)
- the competitions captain, must compete and attend all training sessions and competitions.
- the lessons captain must go to all lessons.
- the treasurer must be able to count to 10
- the media captain must be able to work social media and have some knowledge of photoshop and video editing software etc (we would like to see a trip edit on AGM night)

SKI TRIP THEMED NIGHTS REVEAL !!!!

Alright my lovely people it’s the time you’ve all been waiting for ! 😈Hope you’re all ready to get seriously silly with these themed costume nights whilst we’re living it up Les Deux Alpes !!!

How it normally works for anyone who doesn’t know (let me set the scene for u) :

Get up whenever u want and do as you please during the day, whether that’s getting the first lift and shredding the day away or sleeping off ur hangover then hitting the slopes for a few leisurely runs. (u know what they say, altitude cures like no other)
At around 3/4pm everyone heads to Apres (a bar on the slopes) for music, drinks and down right tomfoolery before attempting to ski back down to the resort 🥰(key word attempting)
You then have a few hours to chill, get some food n have a shower cuz realistically u probably stink by now. (sorry not sorry) and get ready for the big night ahead - THIS IS WHERE THE THEMED COSTUMES COME OUT TO PLAY🥵
Then each night we’ll tell you which bar we’ll be going to in the resort and meet there for some drinks and fun in ur runway ready fits 😍😍😍 if uv still got some boogie left in u by end of pub u can hit the clubs to dance the night away 🕺🏽🕺🏽

(there is no pressure for anyone to drink or partake in the themes if they don’t want to everyone is welcome to come and enjoy the fun regardless !! 🥰) but what better ice breaker than comparing memes 🤜🏽🤛🏽
