3 yards woven and 7 more to go. I have decided that it's not too green after all. Lol

Thick wool tunic and hood embellished with blue and brown card woven trim. The sleeves are lined with light blue linen. I am very happy with how this garment drapes. It is such a simple cut but it looks so lush. All in all I am happy with it.

Chaperon, two shirts, joined hose, and a wool gown. He's very happy with the results. So am I

My everyday, electric, sewing machine decided not to work today so I decided to dust off the old girl. I must admit that I enjoy the rhythm of turning the crank. It is very soothing. The only downside is I can't use both hands on the fabric. Maybe one day I will be able to put her in a treddle desk.

Just finished and pre shrunk. 9 meters long. Bee feet

I am working on a few projects and this is the first. I was given a few cuts of fabric and instructed to " just make what I am inspired to make" Here is the first completed project from the pile. I chose this fabric because it was the most challenging. It didn't have enough yardage to do a lot. I couldn't do many gores or big sleeves so was inspired to make a simple rectangular constructed byzantine style caftan and just embellish the heck out of it. The brown fabric is scraps that I had in my stash, from another project, years ago. It has already been machine washed, in warm water and machine dried, in a medium drier. The belt can be worn with or without the center front fall because I have attached it with hooks and eyes, so it allows for two different looks. Honestly I did this for two reasons. First, I really couldn't decide if I liked the belt with or without the fall and second, The block printing took so long that I wanted to use as much of it as I possibly could. I used all but about 3 inches of it. :)

Mandy's final product. Also made a wide belt so she can wear the under dress as a stand alone on those hot days.

Finished this set last night. Fairly heavy brocade with linen under garments. Details in dupioni silk. You can't see it in the photo but the neck, cuffs and hems of both under garments have the same silk detail. I love adding this type of detail that only shows sometimes. If I get pictures of them being worn, and permission, I will post those.

Inga Knutsdottir is making a kaftan coat. 😊 More pictures to follow.

I made a new dress yesterday and today. I love the colour. It is linen. I am contemplating adding some card woven trim. Kolbera suggests maybe the cuffs? Still thinking about this. All in all I am very happy with the results.

100% wool Italian suit weight coating. The trim is wool and the card woven trim is cotton. I just need to hem the sleeves and then it can go to its new home :)

He's not much for having his picture taken but he does like new outfits. :) This is cotton with black, red and white card woven trim. The lacing grommets are hand sewn. The hood is also in these colours, The Naalbound fingerless gloves complete every outfit he has, both medieval and modern. He loves wearing the things. They are made from sock wool. I think this is the 3rd pair he is in the process of going through.

This blue outfit, for Hamelin, is made of brocade, silk and linen. The brocade didn't drape well so I decided to split the sides and add a silk under skirt with some brocade medallions appliqued on the sides, to tie the outfit together.

I tried to update my Wordpress page today and after resetting my password multiple times I have come to the conclusion that I can no longer access the page to add to it. I will look for another platform but everything that I previously posted is still there so please feel free to take a look. I had a lot of fun creating some of the things on that site.

I did some naalbinding and made a hat, from 100% wool, to match my Norse coat. when I finished it occurred to me that the Coppergate stitch makes a mighty fine even weave cloth so I decided to take advantage of this and embellish with wool that matches the trim of my Norse coat. I also used the leftover fake fur lap blanket, from my coat, which was also left over from Kolbera's houppelande. I love it when I can use the last of something :)

Andrew wanted a new coat like the green and blue one that I made for myself, only he wanted red and black. I chose to use a brown weft in order to do some stash busting. The coat is merino sock wool and the trim is card woven cotton. The fur trim is a lap blanket from winners. Instead of making a new hat I opted to just cover his old red hat because it fit him so well.

I wove three lengths of trim this month, each more than 9 meters pre shrunk. The two outside ones are cotton and the center one is wool acrylic.

I just received some great photographs from Hamelin L'Archier of his wonderful wife Kolbera Varsdottir wearing a garment that I made before the first lock down.
The dress is black linen edged with silk and card woven trim. I wove the trim in a wool / acrylic blend and the pattern is "bee feet" from "Applesees and Foxnoses" The apron is black beige wool and the card woven trim carries over to the shoulder straps of this apron. The fore apron is linen with applique details in silk and card woven trim, edged with silk. The fox, Kolbera's badge, is executed in white felted wool and green silk with silk thread embroidered details. Thank you so much Hamelin for sending me these pictures and Kolbera for wearing it so very well. It is truly a pleasure to create for you guys.

I'm in the process of weaving the cloth and the trim for my next project. It will be another coat. The fabric is wool and the trim is cotton.

This project was a way to keep me occupied and not spend any money. I was yarn busting and wove the fabric and the trim. The fur edging was left over from a commission I did 3 years ago.

Some new trim. I keep forgetting to post.
