On 14th Oct 2023, a freshers’ party was organized in the Aakarshan College of Education. Freshers’ Day is a celebration intended to extend a kind welcome to newcomers, enhance the feeling of community, and motivate juniors. The purpose of this is to meet and welcome the juniors and to introduce them to the campus social scene. Beginning with the junior class, the new academic year is met with excitement and joy. Typical festivities including music, dancing, food and drinks were included in the cultural programme. Every fresher showed their talent and entertained the viewers.

On 06th Oct 2023, Mr. Ajay Kumar & Mr. Sham Lal, representatives from Diet Pathankot imparted training under mission “Samarth” to the student teachers of D.El.Ed (ETT) course, session 2021-23 presently attending TPS in Govt. schools of Narot Jaimal and Bamial Blocks. They taught the students new techniques of teaching maths and English as well as other subjects. They taught in such a way that the teacher can create curiosity in the children to listen, speak and write and also can understand each and every topic minutely. In this way the children of the school will start reading fluently & write speedily in a correct manner. On completion of two days training i.e 5th and 6th Oct 2023, the seminar was summed up on 06th Oct 2023.

It is a matter of great pride for us that the Handball Under-21Girls and above-21 teams participated in District level Handball Tournament organized at Bani Lodhi on 26 September 2023- 30 September 2023 under "Khedan wattan punjab diyan" and became Runner-up in the finals and selected for upcoming State level tournaments.

On 12th Aug 2023, the students of Aakarshan College celebrated “Teej” festival with great enthusiasm in the college campus. The festival celebration of Teej is nature’s bounty, arrival of rains and greenery surrounded by social activities, rituals and customs. The students were dressed in traditional Punjabi dresses. The campus was decorated with swings and items related to Teej. The teachers and the students were seen enjoying the swings. A giddah was performed by the girls’ students. Principal Mrs. Paras Sharma addressed the students and told the importance of the day and mentioned that Teej was primarily a festival celebrated by the girls and women with songs and dances mainly in the northern and western parts of India. The students were delighted to apply mehendi, played on swings and shared traditional delicious sweets with their co-students. They also participated in a cultural programme and performed songs, dance, Giddah and other ranga rang programmes in cheerful mood.

On 09th Dec 2022, the students of Aakarshan Group of institutions celebrated 9th Annual Sports Meet with great pomp and show. All grandparents of our lovely Aakarshians were the chief guests who blessed the students as well as the players and enjoyed the moment with great fun. A ceremonial flame was lit by the best athletes of the institution. An oath taking ceremony was administered by the school head . Mrs. Paras Sharma addressed the gathering and started the sports events with Sarasvati Vandana which was presented by our lovely aakarshians. The students participated in lots of sports events with great enthusiasm. The cultural and entertainment programmes were also organised in the institution. Sports teaches team spirit. Working towards a common goal as a member of a team, selflessly, personal interests notwithstanding and leadership skills. The function was concluded with prize distribution by the Honourable Chairman Shri. Krishan Kumar and the Managing Director Smt. Jiwan Sharma to the winners. A delicious meal was also served to all.

On 26th Nov 2022, the students of B.Ed course, session 2022-24 visited “Govt. Senior Secondary School, Datyal” under Field Engagement activity tour. The purpose of the field trip is usually observation for education, non experimental research or to provide students with experience outside their everyday activities. For students, field studies creates opportunities for first-hand experiences that encourage critical thinking, long-term retention, transfer potential, positive attitudes towards science, appreciation for nature, and increased scientific curiosity. Accordingly the students came to know about the functioning of school i.e. education, discipline, co-curricular activities being carried out in the school and main purpose of school under manifest function of education, such as career training in college or career selection before graduating high school. They also came to know the schools aim to transmit knowledge, to teach students socialization, cultural norms, and how society functions.

On 19th Nov 2022, the students of all courses of Aakarshan College visited “Old Age Home” at Pathankot under educational field engagement activity schedule. The objective of the field visit of the students under this educational activity was to make them realize their social responsibilities towards senior citizens. Such visits also activate the student’s thought process to feel the agony and pain which the people go through in their old age while living away from their dear ones. On visit the students came to know that residential old age homes at Pathankot have good facilities and trained nurses to look after the old age peoples the whole day. They made good friends and spent time happily by getting good attention. The students saw the happiness in their eyes. They looked happy, but still we can feel their pain of not being able to live with their dear ones. But still, it looked like a big joint family.

On 14th Nov 2022, a fresher party hosted in the Aakarshan college complex with great pomp and show. Aakrshians threw a rocking base for freshers at the institute campus with a ranga rang programme. We welcome all the new students of great fun, music & dance. This was the most enjoyable event and there was lots of space and a decidedly non-slip floor making it ideal in many ways with a great atmosphere. The floor was jam packed with students having fun and frolic. The students did a lot of masti followed by a delicious lunch. That’s what we call starting an academic year in a style.

On 11th Nov 2022, the students of Aakarshan College celebrated “National Education Day” for the purpose of commemorating the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, the first education Minister of India and to acknowledge Maulana Azad’s contribution to the country’s education system. Because education provides stability in life, and it’s something that no one can ever take away from anyone. By being well-educated and holding a college degree, which increases his/her chances for better career opportunities and opens up new doors for him/her.
On 07th Nov 2022, the students of Aakarshan College Of Education celebrated “Guru Nanak Jayanti”. A special assembly was organized in the school on this occasion. It is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of the first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak Dev ji. The teachers and the students delivered speeches on his life and his teachings. The most famous teachings attributed to Guru Nanak Dev ji are that there is only one God, and that all human being can have direct access to God with no need of rituals or priests. His most radical social teachings denounced the caste system and taught that everyone is equal, regardless of caste or gender. Shabadkirtan was also organized in the school. The festival was to honour his life, his achievements and, most importantly, his legacy.
On 31st Oct 2022, the students of Aakarshan College participated in a marathon race (Run for Unity) from Fatehpur to Narot Jaimal Singh from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon on the eve of Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bai Patel. A special assembly was also organized in the college on this occasion. It teaches that unity is the biggest power for people who cooperate with others, no one can do all the things alone, everyone needs help and support. Unity is strength develops a feel and everyone can deal with any worse situation with the power of unity. Observing this day provides strength and resilience for the nation to hold on to unity, integrity and security.

On 12th Oct 2022, the girls of all courses of Aakarshan College participated in the Mehandi competition. The purpose of this competition was to teach the students about traditional customs of India on various festive occasions. The selection of winners was based on the mehndi design creativity, design and cleanliness in work. The students enthusiastically participated in the competition and presented their mehndi talent hunt in the skilled manner of decorative designs.

On 17th Sep 2022, the students of Aakarshan College proceeded on an Educational tour under National Service Scheme camp at Barth Sahib. The NSS volunteers did a social service at the holy place of worship, Barth Sahib. It makes the students confident, develop leadership skills, and gain knowledge about different people from different walks of life. The students also learn other skills that help them have a better life in various situations. This study involves identifying the importance, aims and objectives of NSS in higher education which in turn create social responsibility among the students.

On 12th Jul 2022, the students of all courses of Aakarshan College did an activity on “World Paper Bag Day”. The students made paper bags for daily use of paper bags instead of plastic bags. They also gave a message to people to make an effort to avoid using plastic bags in favour of paper bags to preserve our nature and plants for future generations. The adverse impacts of plastic bags on the environment have led to the use of paper bags. Plastic takes years to decompose, whereas paper bags can be reduced and easily recyclable.
