Ash bowl turned from green wood to finished thickness and wet sanded. Thank you to for teaching me so much about this process. I learned more from him in two days than I have in years. Now back to practicing. Fingers crossed this one didn’t crack but if it does, ash makes great firewood.

Bur Oak finished with tung oil and beeswax mix.

The satisfaction of shaping a bowl with a sharp gouge is difficult to explain to people that don’t practice a craft. But let’s just say that it’s as close to being in the zone as it gets for me. Do you have an activity in your life that helps you cope with whatever comes at you? If so what is it?

It’s almost done. The bark has been tricky but with some creative gluing, I think it will turn out well.
