Since they are easier to clean, clear braces can also help keep your gums healthier than traditional braces, where food is more easily trapped if not cleaned properly.

Are you a fan of a warm cup of tea? 🍵 Studies show that drinking hot green or black tea can actually have some noteworthy benefits to keep your smile as radiant as ever.

Black tea and green tea contain fluoride, often in higher concentrations than in “optimally fluoridated water". Some research suggests these teas also contain chemicals that could help reduce plaque.

So next time you're craving a warm beverage, opt for a cup of hot tea! 💗

Dental fillings are a common and effective way to treat tooth decay and restore your smile, but how much do you know about them? Here are some facts that you may find interesting:

Dental fillings are made from different materials, such as gold, silver, porcelain, composite resin, glass ionomer, and resin ionomer. Each material has its own advantages and disadvantages, depending on the location and severity of the cavity, the cost, and your preference.

Dental fillings can last for many years, but they are not permanent. They can wear out, crack, or break over time, allowing bacteria to enter the tooth and cause new decay. That’s why it’s important to visit your dentist regularly and take good care of your oral health.

Dental fillings can sometimes cause sensitivity or discomfort, especially when they are new or exposed to hot or cold foods and drinks. This is usually temporary and can be relieved by using desensitizing toothpaste or mouthwash. However, if the pain persists or worsens, you should call our office as soon as possible!

Dental fillings can improve your oral health by removing plaque and bacteria that cause tooth decay and gum disease.

When it comes to addressing minor imperfections, dental bonding is an excellent option.

In case you need reminding, here are some of the benefits of professional teeth whitening. 😁

Stronger, more thorough whitening: Professional teeth whitening uses a higher concentration of bleaching agents than over-the-counter products, which means you can achieve more noticeable and lasting results. Professional teeth whitening can also remove stains that are deeper and harder to reach, such as those caused by to***co, coffee, or wine. 🍷

Speed: Professional teeth whitening can give you whiter teeth in about an hour, whereas over-the-counter products may take weeks or months to show any effect.

Safety and comfort: Professional teeth whitening is safer and more comfortable than DIY methods, as it protects your gums and enamel from damage. A dentist can also monitor and adjust the treatment to prevent or minimize any sensitivity or irritation. Professional teeth whitening can also avoid the risks of using unregulated or expired products that may harm your oral health!

Winter sports can be a blast, but it's essential to remember that safety should always come first. ☝

If you're planning to hit the slopes or glide across the ice rink this season, don't forget to take an extra step to protect your teeth– wear a mouthguard! It acts as a cushion, absorbing the impact of blows and reducing the risk of damage to your teeth and jaws.

If you have any questions or need assistance with choosing the right mouthguard, contact Oral Facial Surgery, PA today.
