Combined there are over 40,000 fires per year attributed to chimneys and dryer vents which can be avoided by having your chimney and dryer vent properly inspected and cleaned on an annual basis. If you have an oil furnace you do have a chimney. A common misconception is that you do not have a chimney but that is incorrect .Approximately 95% of homes currently have a chimney for combustion fuels to escape the home.
