The Plug and Pair system uses one common Dongle to connect up to five wireless devices. Pairing a device to the system is very simple.
With this method, the host PC´s USB port is freed of multiple USB cables or dongles. Using an advanced 2.4 gigahertz RF technology, it is free of interferences from other similar wireless broadcast from WiFi or Bluetooth radios within the vicinity of the host PC. Likewise, it will not interfere with the performance of the other radios. There are no complicated setup requirements, no driver downloa
ds or application software installations needed. After the dongle is plugged in to a USB port while the PC is operating, the host PC´s OS will automatically recognize and make it ready for use within a few seconds. The time however will vary with the PCs operating system and speed. Once the dongle has been recognized, any device which the user desires to pair is done by bringing the device close to the dongle ( approx. 10 to 30 cm ) and by pressing or clicking any function key or button on it will initiate the pairing and will confirm connection through an indicator LED and a "beep" sound. Once a device is paired, it is paired even if the dongle is powered off or transfered to another PC. This procedure is repeated on each wireless device which the user desires to connect to the system. Paired devices may also be unpaired by pressing on the "reset" button usually located at the bottom side of the device. The "reset" may also be used in rare cases of any pairing problem or malfunction. All Plug and Pair devices do not need power ON/OFF switches. All devices have very low power consumption and use an intelligent power management system. Built-in rechargeable Li-Ion batteries eliminate the need for battery replacements. The system is expandable, and basically there is no limitation as to the number of Plug and Pair dongles which may be used on one PC provided there are enough useable USB ports. This feature gives an advantage for multi-player game configurations and applications. Overall, "Plug and Pair" eliminates the messy wiring of multiple HID‘s to the PC. More wireless devices compatible with the "Plug and Pair" system are currently under development and will see their introduction soon.
