On November 2, 2021 Durango High School, located in Las Vegas, NV, became the 1st of 10 Air Force JROTC units to transition to Space Force JROTC units. Lt Col Shaun "Phargo" Phipps, Commander of the 328WPS, attended the ceremony as a guest.

"It was a real honor to witness the activation of the first of ten Space Force JROTC detachments. Their program has an impressive 25-year legacy of developing leaders and serving the local community. The cadets’ passion and enthusiasm for joining the Space Force was genuine, and I welcome them to the Space Force family."
- Lt Col Shaun Phipps

Looks like some future patches in the making! Congratulations and welcome to the United States Space Force!

The graduated its first class in June '09 and has continued to produce Tier 1 patches since then.
While a lot of the faces of the 26WPS change, there have been two faces that have remained constant: Mr. Marquis and Mr. Miscio. These contractors have become pillars of the 26WPS and their continued support and contributions help to ensure that the 26WPS continues to produce Tier 1 patches!

There is another name that must be mentioned when you talk about the 26WPS graduating its first class and that is
Brigadier General Select "Knuckles" Campo, as he was instrumental in validating the 26WPS' Weapons Instructor Course.

The 34WPS is charged with creating tactical experts in Combat Search and Resue. is the primary way the executes Personnel Recovery during conventional combat operations. Its mission is to save lives and ensure the operational readiness of our forces by returning isolated personnel to their units, upholding our sacred promise to never leave a brother or sister in arms behind, and deny the enemy the ability to exploit them. In order to accomplish this, the 34WPS uses the spectrum of joint and coalition assets to report, locate, support, recover and reintegrate the survivor. This effort requires planning across all domains and integrates effects across combatant and functional commands in order to execute the recovery in sophisticated anti-access and area-denial environments. The 34WPS plays a vital role in ensuring the success of this complex mission, by graduating the highest level of tactical experts and leaders in the HC-130J and HH-60G aircraft, which are the only two airframes in the DoD's inventory that have the mission of Personnel Recovery. In addition to combat airdrops and air to air refueling, the HC-130J fills a critical command and control gap as the CSAR coordinator, tactically managing the rescue effort. Here is a video that provides a glimpse into the 34WPS and the world of Combat Search and Rescue.

Today is POW/MIA Recognition Day, and we recognize the more than half-million service members who have, at one time, been held as prisoners of war.

Nearly 82,000 members remain unaccounted for but they are . The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), as a whole, is committed to bringing every member home.

"An interesting feature of the aircraft was its variable-geometry wings. While in the air, the wings could be swept forward for takeoffs, landings or slow speed flight, and swept rearward for high-speed flight. The F-111 could also fly at very low level and hit targets in bad weather."

Who remembers the F-111 Aardvark? I found this photo of the last graduating class from the F-111 FWIC. The F-111 was a part of the USAFWS from 1978 -1995. If you know anyone in the photo, let us know!
