Happy Friday! âď¸ đ˝
When a childâs sleep goes haywire itâs easy as parents to try ânewâ things to help them sleep better.
Similarly, if your child has never slept well youâve probably tried everything under the sun to fix things.
One of the most important pieces of a healthy sleep routine is consistency. Our clients learn that without consistency (even on tough nights), theyâll never reach their sleep goals.
Children need consistent routines, consistent schedules, and consistent parental responses in order to be consistent for you.
If youâre stuck trying to figure out WHAT you need to be consistent with, whether itâs schedule, routine, or method, we are here to help you figure that out!
Thereâs no better valentine than your child. â¤ď¸

We all have data like thisâŚespecially this time of year and we are loving this reminder from our friends đ
Sometimes as a parent itâs hard to know whatâs right for you especially when others are sharing their own opinions on any given subject.
Itâs so important to tune out the noise and do what works for you and your family.
Bottle feed or breastfeed? Your choice!
Sleep train or donât? Your choice!
Cloth diapers or disposable diapers? Your choice!
There is no room for judgment, guilt, or unsolicited advice in parenting.
Shhhh I canât see!
Wishing restful nights to all this Thanksgiving!
Itâs officially the holiday season and that can mean some added stress and anxiety around sleep. But we've got you covered!
đŚTRY to relax and remember that the holidays will pass and your child WILL get back on track within a day or two. And remember that this phase of life WILL pass with time!
đ¤śit can be helpful if you're able to host. Hosting allows your child to be in their own space and sleep in their own room. Even if their schedule is a bit off, they can at least enjoy that comfort.
âď¸ If youâre traveling for the holiday, we recommend doing your best to recreate an environment much like home. That would include:
⢠A travel white noise machine like the Hush
⢠Travel blackout shades
⢠A crib, bassinet, or pack n play
⢠If possible, their own room. If this is not possible, attempt to keep your child from being able to see you in the room with them.
While their schedule may be off, try to prioritize getting your child down for naps and bedtime before they become overtired.
***REMEMBER*** Overtired children have difficulty falling asleep and/or staying asleep, and may be more prone to tantrums and grumpy moods... it's worth it to prioritize their sleep!
Remember that you can and will get back on track as soon as you return home. We're always here for you if you get stuck!
Are you traveling or hosting the holidays? Let us know below!

In the world of child sleep, it can be hard to keep things in perspective. Many parents who have finally achieved the goal of helping their child sleep well will panic if their child has an off day or night.
It's important to remember that our children are just like us! They have bad days, too.
It can be easy to lose sight of this, and to grow anxious if your child takes a short nap, skips a nap, or has a bad night. Remembering that you have the tools necessary to get them back on track is a great way to alleviate that anxiety.
If the bad days are outweighing the good days, we're here to help. Child sleep can be difficult to navigate! Having a clear plan and supportive help to get back on track can make all the difference.
Early wakeups are one of the most common sleep struggles but are often one of the most difficult to address.

The Safe Sleep for Babies Act became law in May 2022 but goes into effect tomorrow, November 12, 2022.
American Academy of Pediatrics President Moira Szilagyi, MD, PhD, FAAP stated, âThe message from pediatricians has long been clear: the safest sleep environment for babies is a firm, flat, bare surface. Despite what the science shows, crib bumpers and inclined sleepers have remained on the market and store shelves, misleading parents into thinking they are safe and leading to dozens of preventable infant deaths. No family should ever experience this tragedy. When this bill becomes law, parents will have the long overdue peace of mind that these dangerous products can no longer find their way into their homes."
Restfully Sleep Coaching] knows that baby sleep can be challenging and information can be confusing. If you're struggling to get your baby to sleep in a safe sleep space, do not hesitate to DM us or schedule a free call with one of our sleep experts for strategies to help your baby sleep safely.

People without small children are likely looking forward to gaining an hour of sleep overnight on Sunday, November 6. For those of us with small children, it's another story. Their 6am wakeup will now become 5am on the clock... why????
We're here to help your baby, toddler, or school-aged child address the change without much fanfare.
FOR THE GO-WITH-THE-FLOW CHILD
Congratulations! Youâre lucky. The end of Daylight Savings Time should be a fairly simple transition. On Sunday, November 6th, follow the clock (new time) and put your child down for naps and bedtime according to the clock. While you may have some minor hiccups during the first couple of days of the time change. If you notice your child is a little extra tired, try putting them down 15-20 minutes earlier for the first few days before moving them up to their normal nap and bedtime.
FOR THE SENSITIVE CHILD
You may consider preparing for the time change about one week ahead of time. Even though we are turning the clocks backward, we want to move our children's schedule FORWARD in order to get them used to their "normal" times.
Assuming a 7pm bedtime you can attempt the following:
Sunday and Monday: bedtime at 7:15 p.m.
Tuesday and Wednesday: bedtime at 7:30 p.m.
Thursday and Friday: bedtime at 7:45 p.m.
Saturday: bedtime at 8 p.m.
Sunday: NEW TIME: bedtime at 7 p.m., according to the clock
Similarly, you will move wake-up time and nap times by 15 minutes each day. So if your child is waking at 7 a.m., donât begin the day until 7:15 on days one and two. If your child takes two naps and naps at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., move the nap times to begin at 9:15 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. on days one and two, and continue pushing them by 15 minutes each for the rest of the week.
