If you can think it you can feel it. If you can feel it then it's real.

To stay healthy, our mind needs food and sustenance in the same way the body does. We've come up with the following emotional "food groups" to help you focus your intentions on the behaviours that nourish the mind and spirit. Through awareness and practice, these behaviours build up your cognitive capacity and strengthen your emotional resilience. 🥕CREATING - creativity is the dynamo that drives emotional wellbeing. We're all born with a creative instinct and that creative core stays with us through life. Sustained creativity into adulthood bodes well for ongoing wellbeing. 🍌FUN - the brain needs time to play and experiment without the harmful pressure of stresses and strains. The capacity to have fun enhances social engagement, learning and exercises your empathy "muscles". 🍏DREAMING - one of the most powerful functions of the mind is to imagine and visualise possibilities and this is the key to pre-empting and navigating change. 🍅BALANCING - the mind needs balance to function optimally. Too much of one thing and too little of another distorts our sense of reality. The balancing food group also is the basis of our ability to form healthy relationships. 🍊DOING - mindful doing and deliberate practice is how the mind grows through new experiences, especially when combined with the other behavioural food groups. 🌻RENEWING - and cultivating is how the body and mind repairs and re-charges. This is the group of behaviours we should see as "super foods" that align the body, mind and spirit. There's no sequence or secret recipe to these behaviours. Our brain is quite often doing them all at the same time. That's a blessing as long as we are aware of which one is dominant in any given moment.

If you go down to the woods today you really may be in for a big surprise. We all know about the benefits of being outdoors and its effect on levels of Vitamin D in our bodies. However, did you know that certain health giving micro-organisms are found mainly in forested and woodland areas? Regular contact with the enzymes and microbes found in natural habitats support our emotional health and boost our immune system.

It's good to have goals in life. However, they're not about "creating" your future self. It's about being more you. The most effective goals focus on finding the stillness within that allows you to stay grounded in the moment at all times. This quality of stillness allows you to pull the future you want towards you. In other words, movement is a state of mind. 🌻
