A momentous effort by Governor Tina Kotek, City of Portland, OR, Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT), Oregon Department of Transportation, Union Pacific Railroad, TriMet, Metro and Multnomah County, Oregon to clean up freeways and restore the beauty of our City for residents and visitors alike.

Portland’s I-84 reopens after ‘reset’ to clean graffiti-ridden freeway I-84 reopened Sunday just after 11:30 a.m. after six entities collaborated to halt traffic in the area and access unsightly tags.

SHARE:🧊Multnomah County will open cooling centers starting Friday, July 5, at noon, and will extend hours into the evening at two large libraries — providing respite for community members as a dangerous heatwave threatens to send temperatures well over 100 degrees.

Today and throughout the heatwave, outreach workers are providing hot weather gear like water, cooling towels and sunscreen to vulnerable people across the County.

✔Portland Covenant Church, 4046 N.E. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Portland

📚 Friday (July 5), Multnomah County Library will also extend hours at the Central (801 S.W. 10th Ave., Portland) and Gresham (385 N.W. Miller Ave., Gresham) libraries until 9 p.m., with bottled water on hand, to provide additional places where people can go during the hottest parts of the day and evening

Exciting news! On Friday, May 10, Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) announced two significant investments at its headquarters complex on Swan Island. The company will invest $40 million for a new engineering facility and $3 million for a new electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) training center which will be located adjacent to Electric Island at DTNA’s campus.

The EVSE training center is funded in part by a $1.5 million forgivable loan authorized by Prosper Portland, while the DTNA engineering facility will receive a five-year tax abatement via the Enterprise Zone (E-Zone) program in addition to a $700,000 forgivable loan from the State of Oregon’s Strategic Reserve fund.

Tiny homes outperform mass shelters, according to a Portland State University study. The study found houseless individuals are more likely to move into permanent housing if they seek shelter in a tiny home community instead of being consigned to a congregate shelter, which had long been considered the solution for getting people off the streets.
