Frontier Records
Sun Valley's premier punk rock label since 1980! Frontierrecords.bandcamp.com
We are not accepting demos from new artists at this time no matter how great you are, and how much money we'd make if we did release your record. However, we ARE extremely interested in reissuing vintage punk and/or alternative rock 45s or LPs, especially if you have unreleased demos or masters to go with them. If you represent a band or label that would fit in with the classic Frontier PUNK roster, please visit our website for contact information.
From Dave Markey & Brian Kehew:
Thanks to your generosity, the Bill Bartell campaign is going brilliantly, but we’re not quite there yet. As an all-or-nothing venture, we need a little more support in order to receive any funding at all.
We have just over one week to raise $4,219
We’d appreciate it if you could share the link with anyone you think might be inclined to consider making a pledge to Dave and Brian's project. No amount is too small.

We are a bit over halfway through the basic edit. Editing is by nature a solitary endeavor, your support leaves us feeling motivated and connected.
Wishing you all the very best,

The Secret Lives Of Bill Bartell A 90-minute documentary by David Markey and Brian Kehew on the enigmatic musician, producer and prankster, Bill Bartell
Please do what you can to help! 😨
Hey friends, we recently learned that our good friend Mike Roche, founding member and bassist of TSOL, has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Mike has been a pillar of our music community for years, and now he needs our support more than ever. If you are able to help, please consider making a donation. We’ve provided a link in our bio where you can contribute and show your support for Mike during this challenging time. ❤️

For all you punks and/or Girl in a Coma fans, 'Adobe Punk: the concert' continues at 8pm on Friday, March 22 at Lineage Performing Arts Center in Pasadena. This is the FINAL weekend & I'll be doing the Punkast before the show begins so come on down!
Headlining is Nina DIAZ (Girl in a Coma) with the Adobe Punk band! The concert includes songs co-written by Diaz and Theresa CHAVEZ as well as stories from the original Adobe Punk theaterwork which is set in the early 1980s working-class city of Bell Gardens, CA, where punk music finds life in one of L.A.'s oldest adobe homes.
Kicking off each concert is Punkast host Jessica SCHWARTZ in one-on-one conversations with punk music trailblazers still playing a vital role. Each mini session will delve into the meaning & evolution of punk, punk ethos & artistic freedom, L.A. punk geography, punk feminism, and squatting.
Punkast guests include Lisa FANCHER (Frontier Records) Fri. March 22, Teresa COVARRUBIAS (The Brat) Sat. March 23, and Jimmy ALVARADO (Eastside Punks video series) Sun. March 24.

Punkast Guest Spotlight: Lisa Fancher
Lisa Fancher of Frontier Records will be joining us for our 4th Punkast mini-session taking place right before our March 22nd performance of Adobe Punk: The Concert at Lineage Performing Arts in Pasadena!
Fancher is a San Fernando Valley native. In high school Fancher wrote about the Runaways and lines from the piece became part of the inner sleeve of their self-titled debut album. Also while attending John H. Francis high school, she mimeographed her first fanzine, Academy in Peril, and went on to publish subsequent ‘zines, Street Life and Biff! Bang! Pow! as well as writing for Bomp!, Back Door Man, New York Rocker and L.A. Times (fired by Robert Hilburn for being “too enthusiastic”) and L.A. Herald Examiner.
In the early ‘90s, Fancher revived the legacy of the great, pre-hardcore L.A. punk label, Dangerhouse Records (X, Avengers, Weirdos, Bags, Blank Randy, The Eyes). Switching gears and morphing into a “punk rock Rhino” (OC hardcore combo, Middle Class; the Stimulators; reissues by Lilys). Fancher now owns a streaming radio station: predictably, the call letters are KXFU! She explains: “After being stiffed again and again over and over by dozens of record distributors over 30+ years, I co-founded Independent Label Distribution with Mike Beer from Beer City Records in 2011.” Visit frontierrecords.com for more information.

Happy Friday to all who celebrate! We stumbled onto more hidden treasure in Fanch Ranch storage but in truth it's a of the highest order!
We rediscovered not one but THREE different colors of Heatmiser's hard-to-find 1994 10" EP, Yellow No 5. We haven't stocked this since pre-covid! Yellow No 5 lays out five brisk, hook-filled tunes, none of which appear on Heatmiser's two Frontier LPs (also available on vinyl, fyi). Not just for Elliott Smith completists, it's mandatory for anyone who loves top notch punk-pop! Available on clear, transparent blue, or opaque yellow wax. There's even a lyrics insert. Super limited quantities so head to right NOW!
S A T U R D A Y... NIGHT! It's the Los Angeles premiere of GHOSTS OF THE CHELSEA HOTEL (and Other Rock & Roll Stories) at Cinelounge, 9:30pm December 2nd. I'm a (brief) interviewee via my obsession with Jobriath's pyramid on the roof but the real stars are Michael Imperioli; Author Sherill Tippins; Harley Flanagan, Richard Barone, Neon Leon, Howie Pyro 😢, Cynthia Ross; Warhol Superstar Ruby Lynn Reyner; Actors Ned Van Zandt and Victor Colicchio; Artist Skye Ferrante plus long-time current residents Man-Laï Liang, Tim Sullivan, Susan Kleinsinger, Zev Greenfield and Dahlia/Colleen Weinstein.
The documentary explores the hotel's role in the cultural and artistic movements of the 20th century, from the Beat Generation to the Punk Rock scene. It also touches on the controversies and tragedies that have occurred at the hotel, including the mysterious death of Nancy Spungen, girlfriend of S*x Pistols' bassist Sid Vicious, who called the Chelsea Hotel "an artistic tornado of death and destruction and love and broken dreams”.
