Godly Seeds Ministry
God has called vulnerable men and women to save the life's of young children in Sierra Leone {MAL 2: Children are the future generation. What does it teach? .
GODLY SEED MINISTRY
The Godly Seed Ministry is to help (by the power of the Holy Spirit) the children to be what God the Almighty Creator destined them to be before the foundation of the world. As we look at the present situation of our nation, children are very vulnerable. The future is in the hands of the children. It is also equally true to say that the children are in our hands. Since the futu
re of the children is in our hands, we need to commit ourselves to guiding the children and parents in the word of God. Moses made this clear to the children of Israel in the book of Deuteronomy. They were preparing to enter the Promised Land and on four occasions, Moses emphasised to them that their future in that land depend upon their attitude and approach to their children. He commanded them, “Ye shall teach them your children”, Deuteronomy 11 verse 19, and at the same time he gave the results of obedience to that command, “that your days may be multiplied and the days of your children in the land, Deuteronomy 11 verse 21. Again on Deuteronomy 6 verse 7, he commanded them. This same emphasis can be seen in Deuteronomy 4 verse 9 and 10 and in Deuteronomy 31 verse 12 & 13. In Exodus 12:20-27, Moses also had the future generation in mind when as a result of God’s command, he established the Passover. One of the main purposes of the Passover was to provide a visual aid for teaching future generation of children about the power of God “When your children shall say unto you, what mean ye by this service? That ye shall say, ‘it is the sacrifice of the Lord’s Passover Exodus 12:26-27. Joshua followed his example when he set up twelve stones out of the river Jordan as a memorial to what God had done. One of the major reasons for this was to use it to teach future generation of children concerning God and his great power. “This may be a sign among you that when your children ask their fathers in time to come, saying what mean ye by these stones? They ye shall answer them that the waters of Jordan were cut off Joshua 4:6-7. These were men who saw that the future of the nation was in the hands of the children and they wanted to prepare for that day. On Psalms 78, we see it as a teaching psalm. It is a hymn for the home . That is this Psalm reminds us to teach our children, to teach the next generation. The responsibility of each parent or grandparent is that our kids and grandchildren know God’s word, that they understand that the key to success is to know the Lord, to love Him and to be obedient to Him. Some parents think they need to let their kids make their own decision about religion, church attendance and bible study. But here, the psalmist says we are to teach our children in order that they might have hope in God rather than be beaten dowsn by the storm of society and the chaos of culture. We need to continually tell our kids about the blessings that will come their way if they walk according to God’s word and the heartbreak they will experience if they chose a different direction. Ours is a privilege responsibility indeed. Godly Seed Ministry is designed to provide opportunities for children in Hastings village and its environments to hear the word of God.and to put God,s word into action Godly Seed volunters are aware that the children on their own will not be able to succeed. They need the cooperation of the home, therefore the ministry is designed to provide avenues through which the homes could be affected positively with the word of God by home visitations, follow-ups and social help where possible. The school is another arm of Godly Seed Ministry. Godly Seed churches will be in schools willing to join hands with the ministry so together we can reach out to the children at school. This will include in-service, retreats for teachers to highlight the importance of the word of God in schools. We are convinced that if the word of God is planted in the hearts of the children while at school, under the supervision of Godly teachers, we will , , , , teenage pregnancy etc. in school going children. Godly Seed will operate the weekly Bible School at 30 Street, Hastings at the children centre. Opportunities will be available for children and parents to have counselling, prayer sessions, deliverance when necessary. Facilities will be provided to develop the reading culture at an early age, sports and playing facilities for children to provide positive Godly recreation for children. Children will be taught how to protect themselves from r**e which is on the increase, and sexual exploitation of children in communities. Godly Seed will also help to who desire an effective Sunday school, by organising in service for Sunday School teachers and children workers. This should bring a challenge to our hearts. The children of today are the church of tomorrow. H.E. Dr President Koroma’s Agenda for Change starts with the children. We neglect the children at our peril. We need to prepare for tomorrow by reaching our children with the gospel today. Our investment in them will do a good and profitable one – even if we don’t always see the result of that investment as quickly as we would wish. Godly Seed offers opening to reach out to children who do not go to school or mosque or church. There are hundreds of children in each community who are in abject poverty, being used as child labourers, being exploited and have no chance to enjoy being a child. These children surround us and we hardly give them a thought. Jesus, the friend of little children for the state of these children. John Wesley, the great 18th century preacher and founder of Methodism wrote “Unless we take care of the rising generation the present revival of religion will last only the age of man”. METHODOLOGY
