Pineapple w**d, also known as wild chamomile, is probably one you've seen often! It grows wildly and plentifully in many places. Similar to cultivated chamomile but with a sweet pineapple-y taste, this plant has the same calming and soothing effect as chamomile and makes a wonderful tea! 🌿

A new report finds over 93% of U.S. adults have poor cardiometabolic health, obesity rates in adults and children are now at alarming levels but health authorities have determined MonkeyPox an emergency??

I guess we’re going to continue the trend of pretending metabolic health and immunology are completely unrelated. 🤷🏽‍♀️

For the reference and breakdown on the unsettling statistics showing only ~ 6% of U.S. adults are cardiometabolically healthy, I’ll link the video breakdown in my stories.

Here’s the reference: O’Hearn, M., et al. (2022). Trends and Disparities in Cardiometabolic Health Among U.S. Adults, 1999-2018. Journal of the American College of Cardiology, 80(2), 138–151.

It’s simple, but not necessarily easy. And that’s exactly the point. 💕

"We are intricately, intimately, and innately woven into the fabric of creation. Our connection and interdependence with nature is embedded in our DNA. When we slow down and observe, we find we have a natural reverence and connection to nature, plants, elements, and all the creatures that surround us. The recognition of this relationship dates back to antiquity.

For me, to love nature is to love myself, and to love myself, is to love nature. I learned who I am through witnessing the reflection of the Earth."

Donating blood 🩸in the C*19 virus 🦠 era : a very helpful, yet overlooked tool for reducing blood viscosity and iron overload for men and post-menopausal women. (Plus you’re helping others in need, too.)

Get this: 10 days after my last Omicron symptom my hemoglobin was nearly 19.9 g/dL which is way too f’n high! In fact the blood bank turned me away (first time that’s happened.) I hydrated like hell and came back a few days later and it was ~ 17 g/dL something—which is higher than what I consider optimal—but glad I was able to donate.

Since everyone and the mother is getting Omicron lately, this is something to consider.

That aside, over the last 15 years I’d estimate 80-85% of the men I work with would benefit from annually or bi-annually blood donation and ~ 60% of postmenopausal women would benefit. (After just a few treatments it’s not uncommon to see blood sugar health improve in a subset of people—insulin and iron metabolism are interlinked.)

It’s good to periodically check you ferritin, hemoglobin and hematocrit as well as liver enzymes to see if you might benefit from periodic blood donation.

My personal whole blood donation cadence is once every 6-8 months.

P.S. They wouldn’t let me take off this silly mask for the picture. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Imagine buying your child a McDonald’s McFlurry @ 10:00 only to then make them wear a cloth face mask outdoors.

It’s not these people’s fault, just another example of how public health officials and the media have failed us: people have been persuaded to believing a mild respiratory virus necessitates all sorts of safety precautions yet there’s been zero mention about the many long-term health effects linked with insulin resistance, belly fat and childhood obesity—which are caused by our own diet and lifestyle.

If you want to wear a mask to protect yourself, that’s fine but please be logically consistent and also make healthy nutrition and lifestyle choices. 🙏🏽

Super interesting morning reading on the importance of magnesium in vitamin D absorption. It's unfortunate that over 60 percent of Americans have inadequate dietary intake of magnesium.

Common plants for Spring Cleansing.
Are you ready for an internal clean sweep?
Spring cleansing is traditionally a simple and natural invocation of the wild green plants that appear as the days grow warm—and it can be as sweet and soft on the body as tulip petals on new grass.
Violets, dandelion greens, cleavers, nettles, red clover blossoms, plantain leaves, and other fresh seasonal herbs are ideal for a seasonal spring reset.
If you'd like to read up on one of our favorite protocols for gentle spring cleansing, visit the blog:
