The Department of VA announced yesterday new presumptives for Agent Orange. For the purposes of VA compensation benefits, veterans who served anywhere in Vietnam, DMZ Korea, designated sites (Puerto Rico and specific US and foreign military bases*), Cambodia and Laos (Ubon, Udorn, Takhli, Korat, Don Muang, U-Tapao, and Nakhom Phanom - the US used C-123 aircraft to spray the herbicides over the forests of Vietnam during Operation Ranch Hand),
*Specific dates the VA recognizes from the new DoD list (dated Dec 18, 2019) noted contains nearly 150 testing and storage locations, with updates that include specific dates of release or containment, as well as 26 additions, including places like Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md., Dugway Proving Ground, Utah, and Johnston Atoll in the central Pacific Ocean.https://www.publichealth.va.gov/docs/agentorange/dod_herbicides_outside_vietnam.pdf
Dates designated by the VA for Vietnam between January 9, 1962 and May 7, 1975 are presumed to have been exposed to herbicides, as specified in the Agent Orange Act of 1991.
Dates designated by the VA for DMZ Korea between September 1, 1967 and August 31, 1971.
Dates designated by the VA for Operation Ranch Hand (Cambodia and Laos: (Ubon, Udorn, Takhli, Korat, Don Muang, U-Tapao, and Nakhom Phanom) from 1961 to 1971.
