Congrats to the Class of 2020 on behalf of the Department of Student Life!

Dear FIT students and to the Class of 2020,

Thursday, May 21 would have been our day to celebrate commencement with our graduating students in person. Since we will not be together until fall, we have created a special program starting tomorrow that will be the Virtual Grad Week finale.

Starting at 3 pm tomorrow, the Class of 2020 website (fitnyc.edu/grad2020) will feature a series of video messages to you, the Class of 2020. You'll see greetings and congratulations from President Brown; your valedictorians; some of your favorite faculty; our iconic alumni Michael Kors, Randy Fenoli, and Zaldy; and many more FIT community members. Each of the names of the graduating students will also be featured in a video—by school, major, and in alphabetical order—at the end of the program. We invite you and your friends and families to watch together and engage with one another, and post comments in real time to cheer on the Class of 2020.

We celebrate this year, 2020, through the voices of dozens who have come together to celebrate and salute our FIT graduates.

When we look back, none of us will ever forget this unforgettable year. We offer a special congratulations to all of us—and the Class of 2020—for making it through, together.

Virtual Graduation Celebration 2020

To the FIT Community,

Out of an abundance of caution, today’s scheduled Faculty Town Hall has been postponed. The FIT SGA spoke with all of the town hall collaborators and mutually agreed that holding a large-scale program today was not in the best interest in the health and safety of our campus community. As your student government, we pledge to continue to advocate on your behalf and to find a safe, alternative way to have this very critical and necessary campus-wide discussion. Please be on the lookout for more details and information related to a Faculty Town Hall via your FIT email address.

Please join us as members of the FIT Community come together and unite in solidarity with the FIT Muslim Student Union for a Campus Vigil in the Breezeway at 1pm on Tuesday, March 26th, to commemorate the lost lives in the New Zealand Mosque attacks. During this Vigil, we will remember the lives that have been lost, and remind ourselves that we all stand united as one. Our deepest sympathy goes to the friends and families of the victims, to the citizens of New Zealand, and to the entire Muslim community. We hope you will participate in person or in spirit.
