The 2023 Mells Scenic race is getting close now and final preparations are well under way. If you haven’t signed up yet for this lovely race, time is running out. Entries will close at 2359 on Tuesday 19 Sep so head over to entry central to sign up asap

Members of Frome Running club conducted a recce of the beautiful course yesterday to familiarise themselves with the new route and check out the marshal points. There will be approx 24 marshal points along the course to ensure runners safety and cheer everyone along.

Race day is 24 Sep and entries close at midnight on 19 Sep. You can sign up at https://www.entrycentral.com/MellsScenic

If you want to check out the new route of the Mells Scenic Race, then take a look at the map below. Veterans of the Mells Scenic 7 will notice that the new route takes runners go along part of the cycle path from Great Elm to Mells, rather than going over Barrow Hill. But don’t worry, there are still hills and some stunning scenery to enjoy.

Only six weeks to go until the return of the Mells Scenic race on Sunday, 24th September 2023! This will be the first time we’ve held the race as a ‘live’ event in three years and we can’t wait to welcome you all back. This year’s route will be slightly different, but it’ll still be around seven miles in distance. It’ll still be scenic and there’ll still be a few good hills thrown in for good measure! So if you fancy joining us for a fun, challenging and friendly off-road race, then sign up here at Entry Central:

Entries cost £17.00 (£15.00 for members of any of EA WA SA) and can be purchased online until 19th September at 23:59. There will be no entries available on the day.

The Frome Running Club Committee has taken the difficult decision to cancel this year's Mells Scenic 7 originally due on September 4th. Due to a combination of enhanced licence requirements delaying the ability to open entries, uncertainty about medical cover and concerns over sufficient marshalling, we decided that it would be better to cancel this year's race rather than put on a sub-par event. It is our intention to organise this popular race again next year.
