The Marvelous Melba Moore!
https://conta.cc/3lInSZs
She is timeless... She is unapologetic. She is marvelous.
The marvelous Melba Moore who rode the music charts in the 80s now demonstrates that staying power has never gone out of style. After four decades of life on stage, her appeal is timeless with a new album - Imagine - which is climbing the charts. She is singing new songs today with a vocal range that has not dimmed with time. Her voice is powerful with purpose and passion. Her multi-octave vocal range continues to wow all who listen.
The new album, “Imagine' --marks a return to her R&B roots. With this album, marvelous Melba Moore continues to leave nothing to the imagination because we hear her passion - clear and direct. Her conversations today reflect the struggles of many generations -- from breaking barriers to transcending the waves of time. So In Love, the first release from IMAGINE, her latest offering to the musical landscape, spent 3 weeks atop The UK Soul Top 30 Chart in November 2021 and returned Moore to airwaves in the United States and around the globe. The world is ready for MARVELOUS MELBA!
Melba Moore brings history to her new project IMAGINE and creates a relevance that we all can feel. Melba’s rich and soulful sound harkens back to her chart-topping successes the 1970s and 1980s. However, “I have lots of younger people bringing me new music,” Melba says, but stands soundly on his musical history, noting that “we're the foundation of it.” “Since God has given me my good health and ability to continue to do my work, it's my privilege now to say, ‘This is where it came from, this is how it was, and I'm here to pass it on to you.’ It is not only the foundation of Afrocentric culture, but it's part of America and world history.” And Melba Moore is soundly rooted in that history!
Stepping into life - Now
The Marvelous Melba Moore has been making new waves in music for some 50 years. While she set many records over the years, her music continues to win the hearts of new generations. Ms. Moore’s 1978 dance classic "You Stepped Into My Life" continues to ignite audiences. Melba is stepping into the life of new generations with her new music and climbing the charts one step at a time.

Simone Gordon The Black Fairy Godmother recognized by Newark Mayor -
"Women Making History While Impacting Their Communities"
For Simone, her magic wish is for success of women and girls who need it when no one else shows up. "It was a complete honor to join Mayor Baraka's salute of Women's History Month and to honor women across our communities and country," she said. She made it clear that The Black Fairy Godmother Foundation has been created for those women in need and specially those affected by trauma. Gordon adds, "Just because a woman has experienced trauma, doesn't mean that she has to live with it always -- trauma is temporary."
About the Black Fairy Godmother Foundation
The Black Fairy Godmother Foundation, founded by Simone Gordon, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created to help Black and Brown marginalized families. Our foundation uses the power of networking, social media, and influence to connect families in need with people that can help.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM THE FAMILY OF JAMES MTUME
TED Talk with James Mtume - www.youtube.com/watch?v=7t8sA5xgDKo
The Mtume family sadly announce the passing of James Mtume (Forman) - sunrise January 3rd, 1946, sunset January 9th, 2022.
The biological son of jazz saxophone great Jimmy Heath, James Mtume was raised by incredible parents James and Bertha Forman. He pursued training as a swimmer while attending Pasadena City College and was recruited for the 1968 Olympics but decided to instead take a different direction and joined the Cultural Nationalist Organization US. It was during this time that he’d taken the namesake of Mtume (Swahili for “messenger”). In the early 1970’s Mtume shifted towards music as a solid percussionist who went on to tour and record with Miles Davis. Mtume would eventually record with his own group the Mtume Umoja Ensemble as well as on sessions with Duke Ellington, McCoy Tyner, Freddie Hubbard, Sonny Rollins and a host of other jazz greats.
By the mid-late 1970’s with longtime musical partner Reggie Lucas, Mtume forged a path combining soul, jazz and funk (he called it “Sophistifunk”). The result was a slew of hit productions with Roberta Flack/Donny Hathaway (“The Closer I Get to You”, “Back Together Again”), Phyllis Hyman (“You Know How to Love Me”) and Stephanie Mills (“Whatcha Gonna Do With My Lovin’”, “Never Knew Love Like This Before”).
In the early 1980’s Mtume formed the group that bore his namesake and created five best selling albums as well as eleven R&B hits, including the #1 multiplatinum smash “Juicy Fruit” (1982) and the Top 3 hit “You, Me and He” (1984). It was during this time that Mtume took his “Sophistifunk” sound and combined it with the emerging technology of drum machines and synthesizers
In the 1990’s Mtume made his way into the world of soundtracks, creating music for films such as scoring for the film “Native Son” and served as the music supervisor for the television series “New York Undercover” (producing the music for scenes at the fictional nightclub Natalie’s). At the same time, Mtume’s activism continued via his co-hosting duties on NYC’s WBLS-FM’S community talk series Open Line, a role he served for eighteen years.
The millennium found Mtume sharing his knowledge regarding the business of music in arenas such as the Red Bull Academy in Tokyo and TED Talks.
James Mtume is survived by his wife Kamili Mtume; brother Jeffrey Forman; sons Faulu Mtume, Richard Johnson; daughters Benin Mtume, Eshe King, Ife Mtume, Sanda Lee; grandchildren Sukari Mtume, Yamani Mtume, Craig McCargo, Mazi Mtume, Aya Mtume, Jhasi Mtume.

After generating millions of streams and views independently, Broward County rapper Picasso V brings his buzz to a boiling point with the new single “Distance”—available on all online streaming platforms via Global Vybz Entertainment.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YIcYeyMjeu0%20
On the track produced by OTHELLOBEATS, melodic guitar wraps around propulsive 808s as Picasso V recalls the ups and downs of a tumultuous romance. His deft rhymes give way to a hypnotic hook in between confessions such as “But what really hurts the most is I thought you were the one.”
About “Distance,” Picasso commented, “I wrote the song based on a relationship I had some time ago. The woman I was dating was cool at first, but then she started getting a bit dodgy about getting together and what not. Then I heard from folks I knew that my then-girlfriend was seeing someone on the side. So ‘Distance’ came from that experience of her being distant and why.”
The accompanying music video brings the lyrics to life as this relationship plays out on screen intensely, intercutting moments of both bliss and heartbreak. Notably, it has already racked up 542K YouTube views and counting. Meanwhile, the track has surpassed 158K Spotify streams.
Regarding the visual, he added, “Shooting the video was crazy because it was done when the COVID-19 pandemic had shut down most of the country, especially here in Florida where I live. The film crew, producers, the actress in the video, and I had to shoot the video on the serious down-low just to avoid being caught by law enforcement. Like I said, it was crazy, but we got it done.”
Next up, Picasso V will release a special physical CD single of “Distance” in January 2022. It includes three mixes of the song—clean, uncensored, and instrumental—in addition to “Do My Thang.”
However, everything just paves the way for Picasso V’s EP, Sacrificial, set to arrive in the spring of 2022.

The Rosa Parks Family Foundation Endorses Dewayne Harvey’s Gospel Hit, “What The Lord Allows”
On December 1st 1955, Rosa Parks stood up for civil rights and against segregation when she refused to give up her seat and move to the back of a city bus in Montgomery, Alabama. This bold move from Ms. Parks helped spark the Civil Rights Movement, inspiring leaders such as the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr to take action towards helping our nation become a better society.
To commemorate that historic event, this year the Rosa Parks Family Foundation, headed by Rhea McCauley – the niece of the departed Ms. Parks – announces the endorsement of the Gospel hit, “What The Lord Allows” by Dewayne Harvey with Fred Hammond. Currently a Top Ten single on Gospel stations in many parts of the USA, the message within “What The Lord Allows” is one that parallels the triumphs and challenges faced by those who fought the good fight for civil rights. “It’s a message of hope and inspiration,” says Ms. McCauley. “What Dewayne wrote and sings is what Aunt Rosa lived by, that no matter what storms or fears come your way, when you take a courageous stance for what is right, you will find or make a way through to victory with grace.”
DEWAYNE HARVEY SAYS THANK YOU TO THE ROSA PARKS FAMILY FOUNDATION - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHm91EhQKjo

WATCH “WHAT THE LORD ALLOWS” - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sNrHzOzbrk8
“I’m so honored that Ms. McCauley and the Rosa Parks Family Foundation have endorsed ‘What The Lord Allows’, which I had written when I was dealing my own frustrations within the faith yet saw the way through it all,” says Mr. Harvey. “It’s my hope that the song and its message will reach more people on a universal level thanks to the foundation’s support.”
Today the Rosa Parks Family Foundation faces a new challenge pertaining to the house that Ms. Parks lived in while a resident of Detroit (she moved to the city after her years in Alabama). “Currently the house – which was cleaned and rebuilt – is sitting in a storage facility in Italy,” explains Ms. McCauley. “The person who did the rebuilt had it sent there is trying to auction it off – which is wrong since the foundation legally owns the house. We have attorneys here and in Europe fighting on our behalf but funding is running very low. It’s sad and wrong that her house is overseas illegally when it should be back in the states.”
Mr. Harvey – “I do hope those who read this will help Ms. McCauley and the foundation’s efforts to return the Rosa Parks house to the USA. This is a landmark and a piece of important history for future generations to see and learn about Ms. Parks as well as her courage.”
A Go Fund Me campaign is now active to help raise funds for The Rosa Parks Family Foundation’s efforts.
