Cotton candy cloud landscape study part two. I wanted to push the contrast a little more and get the clouds a little fluffier this time around. The same reference photo was used as the previous painting, but they look totally different! For this painting I used galkyd gel as the medium

Working on some quick alla prima landscape studies today. Sometimes I wish we lived in an area where I can easily pull over off the side of the road to do a quick painting. Luckily, I get to ride shotgun most of the time so I can spend most of the drive taking snapshots of cotton candy clouds to paint later. This was my first time using neo-megilp and not sure how I like it just yet >_> If you have any tips, please leave them in the comments below!

Here is the lineup of mini ornaments I created for the Mini Canvas Ornament Show at Art Supply Warehouse this Saturday, December 2, 4PM-6PM. It was a challenge painting at such a small scale, because it turns out that all my small brushes no longer come to a fine point >_> I guess it’s time to pick up more brushes while I’m there!
