How to keep rats out of my garbage
You won't ever keep rats out of a garbage bag, but you can move the garbage bag to a garbage can to take away the five-star meal the rodents are probably getting from what you throw out. The rats can still chew through plastic, so opt for a metal one and make sure that you include a well-fitting lid. If you have larger pests around as well as rats, such as raccoons, you can secure the lid in place using chains or thick bungee cords. The latter will need to be replaced if rats chew them.
