Soulshine and Twine

🕺🏻Holy matrimony🕺🏻, I have been waiting so impatiently to share this awesome commission with you guys!

This was such a wonderfully fun and exciting project and I couldn't have asked for a more lovely couple to work with. When Heather told me she was doing a full Vegas holiday elopement, complete with an Elvis and a sweet little chapel, I knew it was too cool of an opportunity to miss out on! I attempted my first ever boutonniere (something that scared me, but was a welcome challenge all the same) and I got the opportunity to use a bouquet with a discontinued color palette that I had been saving for nearly 2 years for just the right occasion. Looking at how absolutely gorgeous their day turned out, I know it was the perfect purpose for those materials I had been hanging on to!

Due to my chronic pain, I definitely hit more than a few bumps along the way but Heather stayed amazingly patient, communicative and appreciative at every turn. I almost didn't take this commission because I was so afraid that I didn't have it in me to get it done, but I managed to get it squared away by taking it one step at a time.

Her commission inspired me to expand some of the projects that I will be making in the future and reminded me why I love doing this so much in the first place... To create lovingly made items that bring joy to others.

As many of you may have seen, 2/17/22 I had a T2 to L5 spinal fusion revision surgery for my severe scoliosis. My recovery time for the procedure is between 4 and 6 months, depending on my body's ability to bounce back and find a new normal. My commissions closed around the time that I took this project on and are not yet open. I will, however, be scheduling new commissions as early as September 1st, 2022!
