TATYASAHEB KHARE COLLEGE OF COMMERCE:

The society never considered complacency on the way it made progress since last 6 decades. It has been the society’s chief standing goal to promote and make available necessary educational infrastructure facilities and courses for the students particularly of those parents and people of rural area who had sacrificed their young age and life for just an existence or survival and remained deprived of higher education. Until 1991, there was no degree college in Guhagar Taluka. The society in 1992 took decision confirming its object to start a degree college with an introduction of B.Com. Course of Mumbai University. Lt. G.B. alias Tatyasaheb Khare an eminent social activist, businessman and visionary was the core person behind the decision of opening a degree college. Under his able leadership and telescopic vision, the society proposed a plan to acquire a piece of land and construction independent building for senior college. Thereafter, Lt. Tatyasaheb Khare the then barman and founder of the college floated “Building Fund Committee” and “alumni committee” for the purpose. In 1993, the society purchased 7 acres of land on hill side of Guhagar. Unfortunately, the society suffered severe blow of sea and untimely demise of G.B. alias Tatyasaheb Khare. He died on July 24, 1993. The commerce college has been named ‘G.B. Khare College as a tribute and sense of attitude.
