I AM A SENATOR. I AM THE FORMER SENATOR............. To what end?

The above title is basically what most of the candidates vying for the senatorial position are all about. Nigerian politics is so bastardised that just about anybody with the financial muscle can just spring up and decide to run for a very elevated and mental demanding position like that of people represenation. Also, just about anybody can have it, so long he/she knows the language of politics or should I say election. Money and more money.

I have taken my time to study some of the candidates of different political parties and I have found out that most of them except one wants to go to the senate just for the nomenclature; "I am a Senator and I am the former Senator". These people actually have nothing upstairs and have nothing to offer the people they intend representing.
With the kind of political wind that is blowing in Nigeria today, it will be highly disadvantageous and precarious to give these wolves in sheep clothing power. Giving them power is like putting a knife in the monkey's hand.

Just like they say "there is light at the end of the tunnel". It is my honour and privilege to introduce to you the light at the end of the tunnel. He is no other person than the veritable Senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA for Imo East Senatorial District: Barr. Chyma Anthony (Odiuko Na Mba).

What made him the most veritable and qualified?

He is the one man even without senatorial powers has constantly and consistently been on the neck of the Nigerian Senators that are not doing what they ought to be doing like; promulgating laws that really affects the citizens of this country positively. Laws that will enrich the people rather than the other way round.
I think Senator Eyinnaya Abaribe now has another voice that might be louder than his own. God so kind they are brothers from the South East and both running on the platform of APGA. What could be better?

The coming election is somewhat funny as i saw one of the candidate who is nothing to write home about campaigning and riding on the wings of Peter Obi. Funny people. This man that has done two terms with no impact felt in his immediate senatorial district (Owerri Zone) leaving it still very shambolic. I won't say his name because everyone here knows who i am talking about.
The other one has money but 'ba makaranta'. If i say O, you say C another man P, omo na you sabi.
The other one also will use bottle to break someone's head in plenary session. I don talk finish.

Owerri Zone is left with just one credible option in Barr. Chyma Anthony (Odiuko) who is undoubtedly the most qualified, humble and humane, educated, refined and polished.
He is tailored for the task ahead.
Wouldn't you rather choose him?

The All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA is one of the most popular parties in Nigeria, hence it is well known by many. But it is not about knowing the existence of the party, and its only a few who knows what the political party is made of, I mean the foundation upon which the party is strongly built.

Just like individuals pursuing political positions/offices present their manifestoes, which represents who they are and their intentions for the people they want to represent, govern or lead, although in Nigeria we have more of rulers than leaders..... That aside.
Manifesto is defined by Miriam Webster as a written statement declaring publicly the intentions, motives, or views of its issuer. The issuer here can be an individual, a group, a political party or the government.

Here today and on daily basis, I will be taking you through the APGA Manifesto, bringing to you what APGA truly stands for and her intentions towards the people. And of course one can be sure that all the APGA candidates forged their manifestoes drawing inspiration from the APGA manifesto.

Follow me and delve into the world of APGA through her manifesto........

FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLES

The All Progressives Grand Alliance is committed to the following fundamental principles whether it is in government or not in government.

1. National Unity
It will protect the national unity, territorial integrity and sovereign independence of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

2. A Democratic Order
It will uphold the will of the people of the Federal Republic as the only source of political power and hold the constitution of the Federal Republic in honour as the supreme law of the land. It will also enforce the limits prescribed by law on executive and legislative power, promote the fundamental freedoms of all Nigerians and insist on openness and transparency in all organs of government.

3. True Federalism
It will uphold the principles of true federalism as the constitutional framework in which a plural and diverse nation like Nigeria can keep its unity while promoting the different interests of its different peoples.

4. Political Pluralism
It will actively promote the diversity and pluralism of thenation as sources of strength. Every state, ethnic group, religion, culture, class, profession and interest groups must be empowered to reach its highest potential. In this regard, APGA believes that a Nigerian is a good citizen if he is a devoted member of his community, ethnic group or state.

5. A New Role for Government
In compliance with the fundamental principle and directive objectives of state policy emphasized again and again in the Federal Constitution, APGA will do its utmost to change the content of our political culture. It believe that government is a servant of the people. Our political culture must therefore, change to emphasise public service, integrity, merit, justice
Consultation, team spirit, transparency and tolerance. To achieve these goals, APGA will impose a mandatory code of conduct on all public office holders.

6. The Role of the Party
APGA itself will be an instrument of the people for mobilising diverse opinions, ensuring that nobody is left out in the cold, debating differences, and enunciating people-centred policies. The failure of the great promise of Nigeria in the past has been largely the result of the seizure of government by partisan
interestgroups.

7. The Livelihood of the People
lt will promote deregulation, privatisation and globalisation as policics necessary for the modernisation of the cconomy. At the same time, it will put in place a programme of domestic reforms to raise the quality of life of the common people and to ensure that all Nigerians have access to the prosperity and increased human scope of the 21 st century.

8. Commitment to the Black World
it will employ every means, diplomatic, political,
economic. social and cultural, to advance the image of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as the spiritual home of the black peoples of the world.

A NAME THAT RESONATES HOPE.

Once upon a time in my house, i had a little issue which bewildered me and proved difficult for me to solve, my wife traveled and on her return, i told her what the issue was. She went into the kitchen and it was as if she waved a magic wand, before i could say Jack, the issue was solved. I kept asking myself, how did she do it, why didn't i think of that? It was at that moment it dawned on me that 'what a man can do, a woman can it better '.

Oguta/Ohaji/Oru West couldn't have asked for a better choice than Hon. Amb. Uzoamaka Ekwueme. You see, too many a time women have been relegated to the back by the men, which is a major reason we experience setback in National development. I still dare to blame the country's low investment and slow progress in human development to the inadequate number of women in decision-making positions.

Women have proven beyond doubt that they are good managers of resources. Wiat, did i say managers of resources? Women are better multipliers of resources. That being the case, our dear country wouldn't have been in this gargantuan mess if we had more women in key positions to make better decisions that will facilitate National development.

Hon. Amb Uzoamaka Ekwueme who is the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA is such kind of woman that needs to be in a key position. One of the challenges we are facing as a country is that we have successfully continued to vote for people that have nothing to do with the business of law making into the various houses of law making.

It may please you to know that Hon. Amb Uzoamaka is a graduate of Law; meaning, she is elaborately spoiled with knowledge of law. That is why i said earlier that Oguta/Ohaji/Oru West couldn't have asked for a better choice. With the person of Hon. Uzoamaka Ekwueme, the Federal Constituency can now beat her chest that finally, the light that they said is at the end of the tunnel is finally here.

My fellow constituents, the die is cast, its time for us to change the narrative and vote in someone that we are sure will deliver the goods, since the people we have previously voted for has not given us what we required from them to help us grow. Hon. Amb . Uzoamaka is not someone who will go to the House of Representatives to answer present without actually representing. She is someone who is going to give us adequate representation and making sure our collective voice as a Federal Constituency is heard at the hallowed chamber.

INSECURITY IN IMO STATE: CEASE FIRE AND SAVE IMO NOW OR RESIGN

Previously, Imo State used to be a Haven of peace with high level of security so much that people from neighboring states were visiting Imo State for night life, businesses and tourism until January 14, 2020, when a seven-member panel of the supreme court ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to withdraw the certificate of return issued to His Excellency, RT. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and issue a fresh one to Senator Hope Uzodimma, who the court declared the winner of the March 9, 2019 governorship election.

It is worthy of note that Gov Hope Uzodinma was brought to power through the instrumentality of the Supreme Court of Nigeria and with the Advent of this new government, Imo State became a criminal den and a killing hub with the governor abetting those killings, using his Ebubeagu team, the police and the military.

It is unfortunate that under Gov Hope Uzodinma's watch, Imo State has become a theater of war and killings, impunity and abuse of human rights. Intimidation of the citizens and extrajudicial killings under Gov Hope Uzodinma's watch have reached astronomical heights. Even his native Orlu zone is now a no go area. At this juncture, it's expedient we have a chronicle of the killings under Gov Hope Uzodinma's administration.

Under Gov Uzodinma's watch, not less than 15 divisional police headquarters have been attacked by unknown gun men. These attacks also include the state police command headquarters, the Owerri correctional centre and military checkpoints not excluding INEC offices across the state. The burning down of Ngor/Okpala INEC office and the unwanton killings and destruction of INEC office, Ihitte/Uboma are clear indices.

Under Gov Hope Uzodinma's led administration, a 200 level student of the Imo State University, Owerri, Divine Nwaneri, female, aged 23, who hailed from Obollo community in Isiala Mbano LGA was killed by over zealous soldiers with the Governor not doing anything to unravel the her killers.

Under Governor Uzodinma's led government, a farmer was shot and killed in his car whose co**se was deposited into the FMC morgue by same soldiers who killed him.

Governor Hope Uzodinma's administration also witnessed the killing of Mrs Chikaodi Ofoegbu, a mother of 4 who was killed by over zealous soldiers at Eziama-Obiato along the Onitsha-Owerri express way with the Governor being at ease with it.

Under his watch, a promising young business man from Ngor/Okpala, Noel Chigbu who was aged 33, was killed by military men who mounted a checkpoint on the Owerri-Orlu road, claiming he violated military checkpoint rules and one begins to wonder when extrajudicial killing bacame a punishment for violating a checkpoint rules. It was so sad and heartbreaking that Noel Chigbu was killed same day he had delivery of his car.

Under Gov Uzodinma's watch, one Mr. Oguchi Unachukwu, a Germany based Nigerian was killed by a personnel of the Nigerian Air Force on his way to the Sam Mbakwe International Airport, Ngor/Okpala. He was rushing to catch a flight to Lagos when he was gruesomely murdered in the presence of his wife and children. Yet the Governor never condemned this.

Under his watch, his own Orlu Zone has been under attack with the daily burning down of houses, maiming of lives, killings and unwanton destruction of businesses and properties. It is unfortunate that the man who governs the State is a man who cannot put his own house in order. What then makes us think he is competent to oversee the affairs of Imo State?

Under Governor Uzodinma's watch, one Matthew Opara alongside others were killed by the security operatives.

Under his watch, an officer of the NSCDC, one Glory Nkwocha was killed in Orlu.

It's an absurdity to realise that under Gov Uzodinma's watch, few months ago, about 107 Imo Youths were indiscriminately arrested, charged for felony and clampped into the Owerri Correctional Centre. What about those who have been kidnapped, taken to unknown places and were killed? Imo State is bleeding! adminstrative incompetency is the reason!!

I still remember few months ago, the morgue department of the FMC Owerri, made a publication that people should visit the morgue and identify the co**ses of their loved ones as the management was planning for a mass burial of unidentified co**ses.

It's very unfortunate that the Governor has pitched his tent with these killers in uniform. He has never condemned the activities of these killers in uniform, he has never openly warned the Police, Ebubeagu and the military against any form of abuse or killing of Imo people.

Early this year, he said he was going to name the sponsors of these killings and till now he, hasn't named anyone. This makes us understand that Governor Hope Uzodinma is serving the antics of his taskmasters by declaring war on Imolites and the Igbos in general.

We the concerned Imo APGA, Owerri Zone therefore, urge the Governor to cease fire, save the state and return Imo to her original glory by:
Making peace with those he has aggrieved,
Organising a security summit where ideas could be shared to curtail these unwanton killings,
Making a press statement condemning these killings and warning the security operatives openly against human rights abuses and killings,
Deploying civilian friendly strategies and approaches in fighting crimes or He should resign honourable as his incompetency is obvious to all.

Reasons being that Imo State and her economy cannot grow above her security level. No investor would want to invest in a war torn area. Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Imo State cannot rise when there's high level of insecurity and this puts Imo State on a negative world map. *GOV'NOR UZODINMA, CEASE FIRE, SAVE IMO OR RESIGN*

CAN WE AFFORD TO KEEP PASSING UP OPPORTUNITIES ALL THE TIME?

…….A question for Isiala Mbano Electorates to Answer.

So many a time as human we have failed to identify/recognize veritable opportunities even when they stir us in the face, and when we miss or pass them up, we say; it was never for us and we soak ourselves with the old saying “what is ours will surely find us”, yet we keep neglecting what nature has already tailored for us.

Luck they say is when preparedness meets opportunity. As we all know the elections into various political offices/positions in Nigeria are fast approaching, and from recent happenings Nigerians are prepared for this particular election, as many have gotten their PVCs and are gearing up for the upcoming polls. But the question remains; are the people ready to refuse the harbinger stomach infrastructure?

Although it’s a tall call but I believe the entire Nigeria have keyed into the all round call for a positive change. Hence I introduce you to the new face of a positive change; Hon. Alexander Ugochukwu Anyanwu.
Hon. Alex Ugochukwu Anyanwu is the candidate of the All Pregressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for the Isiala Mbano State Constituency. The kind of man that has been clamoured for as we all have embraced the “Not Too Young to Rule” bill. Ugochukwu is just a match made in heaven, as he is among the few I have seen that are down to earth and genuine in their dealings with their fellow man. Hon. Alex is top of the league in that regard.

Isiala Mbano has not gotten an opportunity as tasty as this, one that promises efficient and effective representation in the State House of Assembly. There is no gain saying that the former speaker who cross carpeted from APGA to PDP and then to APC was a man who brainwashed his people into believing he was going to do better if voted to represent them ended up representing himself and family. Poor representation was what he brought to the table. It was so poor that he and many others were called 'rubber stamp'.

The good news is that the day of restoring all the cankerworm has eaten or stolen from us is very close, and the Lord is going to fulfill His promises to His people through Hon. Alexander Ugochukwu of the great All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.

The good people of Isiala Mbano should see this as the best opportunity presented to them to choose the best among the rest to represent their common interest.

PRESS RELEASE

The attention of our great party, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has been drawn to an utterly false and fictitious story making the rounds wherein the Supreme Court purportedly reviewed its judgment delivered on the 14th day of October, 2021 dismissing the appeal brought by one Chief Jude Okeke against the judgment of the Court of Appeal, Kano Division. In the said ludicrous story which has now gone viral on various social media platforms, the apex court was reported to have 'coronated' one Chief Edozie Njoku as the National Chairman of APGA.

We wish to state that contrary to the wishful thinking of the naysayers, no such decision was delivered by the Supreme Court on the 9th day of May, 2022 or on any other date. It is on record that the Supreme Court in SC. 686/2021 merely held that the dispute over the National Chairmanship of APGA is not justiciable and is not within the jurisdiction of the Court. The apex court in making that statement merely mentioned Edozie Njoku as the name utilized by the Plaintiff in Birnin Kudu as the National Chairman of APGA who was purpotedly removed to pave way for Chief Jude Okeke. The Kano Division of the Court of Appeal, whose judgment was affirmed by the Supreme Court, clearly stated that the Jigawa High Court had no jurisdiction to entertain the suit and thus set aside the Birnin Kudu judgment alongside the consequential orders made therein.

We wish to categorically state that by holding that the trial Court lacked jurisdiction to entertain the suit ab initio, the Supreme Court could not have made any positive orders to enure in favour of Chief Edozie Njoku or any other person whatsoever.

It's on record that the Supreme Court in delivering its judgment aforesaid similarly dismissed the appeal brought by Chief Edozie Njoku against the ruling of the Kano Division of the Court of Appeal which dismissed his application to appeal as an interested party. It therefore beats any reasonable imagination how the Supreme Court would turn around to overrule itself after dismissing the grossly incompetent appeal filed by Edozie Njoku.

A careful perusal of the document presently bandied by Chief Edozie Njoku and his hirelings readily reveals that the judgment was against the said Chief Edozie Njoku whose media urchins are polluting the space with the fake news. The Supreme Court not only struck out the appeal as an abuse of Court process but awarded 1m naira cost against the Appellants.

Furthermore, the certified true copy of the Supreme Court judgment shows that Chief Victor Oye was the 2nd Respondent at the Supreme Court and was duly represented by Chief Wole Olanipekun SAN, Dr Onyechi Ikpeazu SAN, PIN Ikwueto SAN alongside others. However, in a poorly scripted fraudulent attempt to mislead the public, Chief Edozie Njoku's name was inserted in the doctored judgment as the 2nd Respondent when Chief Edozie Njoku was not a party in the appeal at the Supreme Court. In any event, there are subsisting judgments of various superior courts of records that have made definite pronouncements on APGA leadership by affirming the May 31, 2019 National Convention of APGA held in Awka, Anambra State.

We wish to assure our party faithful and indeed the members of the public that there is no purported change whatsoever in the leadership of APGA. Ozonkpu Dr Victor Ike Oye remains the National Chairman of APGA and has not been removed by any court. The general public are therefore advised to ignore the false, fictitious and misleading story being peddled by the agents of distraction. Our great party is solely focused in the process of nomination of credible candidates that will deliver our country from its present state of underdevelopment.

Our great party has alerted the relevant security agencies to commence investigation towards the possible prosecution of those who may be found culpable in the forgery and mutilation of vital court judgments.

The most inspiring and encouraging feature of this great son of Ikeduru, the impeccable Personality is that this great man is a consistent; passionate; dogged; resilient; undeterred and determined character who can never betray trust or confidence bestowed on him no matter the circumstance. He can go out of his way to make you happy, but his shortcoming is that he rather dies than to see or witness any form of intimidation or oppression on any son/daughter of Owerri Zone without condemning or fighting it to a logical or reasonable conclusion. A team player of note who believes that standing firm and committed to whatever one believes in, remains the only way and parameter to measure integrity.

Odiuko is an unrepentant advocate of fairness; equity; rule of law and social justice, whose ideological resolve and conviction is entrenched on building an egalitarian society for all inclusiveness.

As a child of destiny, Chief Barr.
