I am a passionate teacher who has been practicing and exploring yoga since 1992. During my 5 years in Asia I studied Buddhism and meditation in Thailand; yoga and philosophy in India and taught yoga in Laos. Winter. A time to observe the leaves fallen from the trees. Nature is our ever present teacher, offering lessons and rituals for life's cycles and seasons. The leaves can be symbolic of what we have the opportunity to shed within ourselves. Thoughts, patterns, behaviours, habits... anything that doesn't nourish you .... let it go ❤️
We strive for a balance in our lives which keeps eluding us. This article suggests we learn to 'tilt' instead . For example, on days you feel stretched at work and at home, don't keep doing it all. If you have a partner, let them take charge. Or have leftovers for dinner, let your kids watch a movie, leave the housework and have a long bath.
Prioritise your self care.
Yoga can be part of self care. Your practice is your gift to yourself. It is your way of connecting back to your inner voice, learning to be gentle with yourself, slowing down and having some quiet time. 🕉

viparita karani or "legs up the wall" : one of the most accessible and effective yoga poses. It boosts circulation, relieves tired or swollen legs and leaves us feeling refreshed. Give it a go, all you need is a wall! 🕉
One of my favourite concepts in yoga is that of 'steera' & 'sukha' or 'effort' & 'ease'; 'strength' & 'softness'. This embodies the dance of life both on and off the yoga mat. Notice when we need to make more of an effort and when we need to ease off. 🕉
