I finally finished this gorgeous Dutch Houses Throw last night. I've been plodding on with this since the beginning of Jan - it has been a pleasure to work on.

The pattern is by but I changed to Overlay Mosaic instead of Inset mosaic (I'm just more comfortable with how it works up) & I made a few minor changes to the pattern.

The colours are fab too!

So apologies I've been MIA for a while. Life just seems incredibly busy at the moment.

Anyway, I've had quite a few messages recently about fairs, blankets etc so thought I'd bob on and give an update.

I will be on the 9th March, 13th April & the 11th May. To be honest I've run out of enthusiasm for markets so these will be my last for a while. I will be trying to sell as much as possible so there will be some bargains to be had.

I am also at the destash event on the 2nd March & will be selling lots of craft items that I hoard but will never use.

Going forward I will be concentrating on orders (blankets in particular) so please do get in touch if you would like to book a slot. I will happily discuss any ideas you have and do my best to deliver. I love a challenge!

Lastly, I will be starting work on Christmas blanket orders from August time & already have a few people booked in so again, get booked in early to avoid disappointment.

I hope to see lots of you at the upcoming markets and hope you understand my reasons for changing. I work full time & life with teenagers (school/college stuff) is full on lately, so I want to spend the time I have making the things I enjoy.

Had quite a few delays on this one while working on orders but finally finished it last night & what a beauty she is!

It's been a real joy working on this one. I really love how it turned out - so colourful & cosy. Perfect Christmas blanket.

1st of December & I feel rubbish. Think I've caught this horrible cold/flu bug that's been going round our house this week.

Good job I can finally snuggle under this lovely blanket to keep me warm.

Happy advent everyone!

Another blanket finished this week. I first made one of these blankets September time which I could have sold 20 times over at my last market. Anyway it was a pleasure to make again & turned our just as fabulously (is that a word?) + it's going to a lovely family where I'm sure it will be treasured for years to come.

That's me done for orders this year, I've a few projects to finish for me, an advent calendar project to work on and spend some time with my family enjoying the festive season.

I love a blanket to snuggle under on the sofa & keep warm so I will have lots available on my stall tomorrow .

They are all reasonably priced & would make lovely gifts or treat yourself to one. All unique and handmade.

Please come along to support myself and lots of other local makers.

Been working on this blanket for a few weeks. I'm loving mosaic crochet at the moment.

I chose bottle green & cream for this one & I did alter the sizing but I'm really pleased with how it turned out.

This is a lovely thick blanket, perfect for snuggling under while watching a Xmas movie.

This one will be available at on the 11th. Hope to see lots of you there.

I have been obsessed with this Lapland blanket since the minute I started making it.

I was disappointed when I couldn't get hold of the yarnpacks ( they were sold out everywhere) but I found an alternative & I just love it.

It's such a thick squishy blanket and lovely and warm.

I wasn't sure whether to keep this one but my daughter loves it so it's staying & will be treasured for years to come.

What's better than a Christmas Tree? A blanket full of Christmas Trees, of course!

I seem to have been working on this one for ages but I have loved every minute of it. I loved the Pine Tree Blanket design by but I adapted the pattern to suit my design.

What a perfect blanket to snuggle under & watch Christmas movies! (Only 99 days now!)

I haven't decided wether to keep this one yet or take it to market. For now, I'm just happy to keep looking at it!

Granny squares are my goto when I don't know what to make & I've had this one on the go for a while.
Couldn't decide on a colour pallette so just picked my favourites. I think they go together well & a good size for snuggling under.

I've made so many of these bags & I always love the different colours people pick. So I finally managed to make myself one & I opted for a soft beige colour.
I love it & I can't wait to use it on our travels to Norway! Can't wait - so excited!
Now wondering if I have time to make up a Viking helmet - too much???

Not been much crochet going on lately- life is getting the way! But when I have had chance, I've been working on blankets ready for Xmas fairs.

I finished this large cream aran throw this weekend. Kept it simple with this one, a lovely large granny square with a cute bobble border. Perfect for snuggling under on a winters evening.

Some blankets absolutely take over your life & this one has definitely done that. I've been working on it for a month and had plenty of wobbles along the way (details below) but I am so chuffed with it. It turned out way better than I imagined.
This blanket is being gifted & I really hope they love it as much as I enjoyed making it.

Wobbles
1. Pattern. I had a vision of how I wanted the blanket to look but could not find a crochet pattern anywhere, so I bought a knitted pattern by & altered it to suit me.
2. Colour. I started making the blanket in green (to look like sheep in a field) and was about to start the 3rd row of sheep when I decided the green wasn't working. After mulling over & a family vote, I restarted in grey, which I think works better & gives it a more modern look.
3. Working yarn. I had so many lengths of working yarn to deal with that my hubby suggested the wool kebab (garden cane) to keep the main bits in check. The rows where the heads are were particularly tricky - with 17 lengths on the go. I did try carrying the yarn, but it just did not work with the fluffy yarn & I wanted the reverse side (pic 5) to look good too. Apart from bumpy legs, the reverse looks fab too.
4. Border. I tried a couple of borders but settled on a simple ribbed border. Again, i think it looks fab & adds to the Modern look.

So again, I love this blanket & I'm really proud of it - would I make it again? Never say never!

I have a couple of union jack cushions left (2 normal, 1 pastel) if anyone would like to give one a home - perfect for coronation weekend.

Reduced to £10 each (I need to make some space)

Had lots of people asking for a sheep update following my wool kebab post.

The wool kebab is not working as well as I'd like as the wool keeps catching on the garden Cane & I had another 4 colour changes for the faces so still got in tangle. Had another idea how to do it, just need the hubby to build it for me.

Anyway after weaving in all the ends, I'm pretty pleased with how the sheep are looking. Even the wrong side looks OK.

I couldn't find a crochet pattern for the blanket style I wanted so I'm adapting a knitting pattern to get what u want. On the crochet blankets I did find the sheep were separate panels then joined together which I imagine is a lot easier than the way I'm doing it but I've started now.

Will be starting the second row of sheep tonight so wish me luck.

01/04/2023

I'm not sure this pattern is worth the hassle of this wool kebab. (Credit goes to the husband for this idea - think he was fed up of my swearing over the tangle)

Do I ditch or keep going?

Some cute & practical cross-body bags finished this week in some lovely colours. These are perfect for summer days when you don't want a big bag, just somewhere for your mobi, lippy & purse!

These will be available at my markets this year - next one is on the 1st April.

Which colour would you pick?

I started making these solid granny squares last year with some left over aran and wasn't really sure where I was going with them, I wasn't sure I liked the colours or that they even went together so I put them away in the wip pile.
Anyway with fresh inspiration this week I decided to crack on and start joining them & I love how it turned out
Its all aran so thick and colourful. With the cold weather we've had this week, it's kept me warm while I've been working on it.
Kind of sad I've finished it now.

Love the neutral colours in this cute pair of baby blankets. Plain & simple but effective.
