Here’s a new bracelet I made last week… I don’t often create glitz & glamour, but this piece has both ~ perfect for Prom & wedding season!!

I bartered for these stunning Crystal Quartz nuggets & freshwater pearls myself at the Pearl Market in Beijing. Sure wish I had bought more, because the sparkle from that quartz is right off the charts!! 💍

🪺 Out Of My Nest will be at the Merrickville Maker’s Market (Saturday AND Sunday) this coming weekend!! I can’t believe it’s almost here, and I’m excited to join them as an artist this year. 🤗

Here’s a couple of pieces that I think might be pretty snazzy together! This Tree of Life medallion is the nicest one I’ve seen ~ and quite Spring-like with the little bird. 🐤 The earrings are quite different; a new design I put together. I just love the brass filigrees in the center!!

Quite awhile back I shared, “The Agony Bracelet”; a truly agonizing button bracelet journey with pictures depicting the
endless-s-s-s saga from beginning to end.

Well, may I present… THE SEQUEL.

Back in the nest 🪺 and it feels great!! My first pieces of jewelry for the new year were a long time coming! I chose all the beads for these a few years ago when we were living in New Brunswick.

They’ve been all snugged up in a bag waiting & wondering when their turn would finally come. Some were a little miffed, others indignant ~ but all very happy when they finally saw the light of day! 😬

Well, it was 🎄FULL ON CHRISTMAS 🎄 after the shows in November, with lots of holiday preparations for hosting our family Christmas Eve celebration. I love it all, but my only time in the nest was spent writing cards or gift wrapping, so it was great in January to get everything sorted, put away & pull out my beads again!!

My first project was a necklace for myself that I had set beads aside for a few years ago, when we were living in New Brunswick. A rather unusual colour combo full of rich browns, icy & Montana blues, with white ~ all inspired by a fabulous stone pendant. That lead to a matching bracelet with a gorgeous brass toggle, so stay tuned for that reveal soon! 🤎🤍🩵

Something I like to do with my jewelry is include a tag listing the materials I used. People find it interesting, especially since I work with such an eclectic mix. Many of my beads have a story as they were collected along our travels, & I’m always happy to share where they came from!

Tagua (pronounced Tawa) nut slices

Freshwater pearls &
Black Onyx I bartered for in Beijing, China

Czech glass beads
Black rolo chain
