As a kidney stone tears and shreds it's way through my body, I have distracted myself by scrolling through Reels.

Now I hated Reels when it first came out: the sheer weight of random crap thrown at you can be totally offputting. But here's the thing: when you see something you like, engage with it: give it a like, make a comment. If you find yourself consistently liking a creator, consider following them.

Over time, your Reels feed can quickly go from 99% utter garbage, to the kinds of things you find funny, thought provoking, and/or informative. It's the closest you'll ever get to running your own tv station.

To get you started, here are five creators I have found to consistently provide engaging, funny, whole material. Check them out. Or don't -- what am I, your mother?

Justin Nunley
Funny, informative, and with a heart of gold

Tank Tolman
Probably the most wholesome creator on Reels. His Viking videos are amazing.

The Real Sam Khatib
There needs to be a Sam movie. That is all

Kall Me Kris
For Eris sake somebody give this woman her own TV sketch comedy show.

The Dadbod Veteran
Funny, poignant social commentary that gently pokes fun at Gen Xers and Millenials alike. Also wholesome as heck.

Okay, the Tylenol is wearing off, so I'll end here. I might do another instalment some other time.
