💥WEIGHT DOES NOT EQUAL FAT💥

🐳This is one of those things most people logically know and understand but, if/when their weight randomly spikes, they immediately "forget" and wonder why they aren't making any progress.

🏓Pay attention and listen close - WEIGHT DOES NOT EQUAL FAT. Just because the scale spikes does not mean you aren't making progress, nor does it mean you gained fat overnight.

🦄What it means -- all it means -- is the scale jumped up for any number of reasons (in my post later today I'll outline 6 of them) and you, technically, weigh more. But weight is SO many things aside from fat. Weight is the food you have in your stomach. Weight is the bottle of water you drank. Weight is your bones (which increase in density as you strength train). Weight is your muscles. Weight is your body holding onto water because you had a salty meal. Weight is your body holding onto water because you're physically, mentally, and emotionally stressed out. Seriously!

🐣Weight is SO MUCH MORE than just fat. And many times you'll step on the scale and see it jump a pound or two or maybe even three+ from the day before. It's not fat - it's physiologically impossible to gain that much fat overnight. It's weight. That's it. Just weight.

✈️So don't let it bother you. Don't let the scale dictate your mood. See the number, recognize it's just a number, move on, and keep crushing it.

HEY!!! Have you heard the news??? That upscale coffee shop loved by many has a brand new drink for the Spring season - the Unicorn something or other....Check it out....

This drink = 3 FULL-SIZED Snickers bars. (Even with skim milk). It's the equivalent of EIGHTEEN, yes 18, sugar cubes. UGH!! My teeth ache just thinking about that!

It's no secret that we have a major sugar addiction and insulin resistance problem in North America....Gee, I wonder why?!?! Everywhere you go turn is another sugar-laden treat waiting there screaming your name.

Look, I love unicorn related things as much as the next person (it IS the national animal of Scotland, after all) but let's get serious for a second, this "unicorn" is gonna send your blood sugar spiralling out of control and THAT is not a myth ;) This particular post is not about calories (although there are plenty of them in there); it's about the sugar!

Do yourself a favour - Don't start your day off with a sugar bomb. I know it's cute and trendy but getting healthier is far cuter & should be a lot trendier ;)

I'm not out to knock you for ordering it, i'm not into funky, designer drinks myself but many are & that's your prerogative. What you choose to drink is entirely up to you :) I'm just hoping to raise some awareness with this post....Food colouring aside, this is an absolute sugar bomb & if you are watching your sugar, or weight, or your health in general, you may want to pretend this drink is much like its namesake, MYTHICAL, and move on to something a little less likely to wreak havoc on your blood sugar......

So, here it is....Day one & return to work & reality after the non-stop eating season known as Christmas & New Year.

How did you fair??

I'll be honest, I grimaced a bit as I reached into the closet to grab a pair of pants for work... I held my breath as I pulled them on, mentally steeling myself for the worst & fully prepared to scold myself harshly. Lo & behold, not only did they fasten without a struggle, they even fit BETTER!! WHOO HOO Hence forth these pants shall be known as my "Happy Pants"! LOL

In all seriousness, this is the first January that I can recall (in more years than I care to mention) that I haven't stormed out of the house in a thunderous mood because my clothes didn't fit! What a difference it has made to my outlook.

Was this mood change because I was sooooo good all season & didn't binge on goodies & random crap? Was it because I faithfully drank 1/2 my body weight in water each day over the holidays? Was it because I exercised religiously while I was off? Well, I'd love to sit here & say "Yes, I avoided crap at all costs! Yes, I stayed properly hydrated! Yes, I exercised every day!" Buuuut, truth is, I did not! I ate what I wanted, my water intake was questionable to say the least & exercise??? Wash your mouth out with soap! How DARE you use that word! LOL

What did I do?? I stayed consistent with my products! Even if I was in the mood to pretend I was a cushion on my couch, even if I just HAD to eat those shortbread cookies, I still made sure I took my products.

So, if you left the house in a foul mood today because someone shrunk all of your clothes while you were off, we should chat!

With all the hustle & bustle leading up to the holiday season, i'm a bit late posting this...

Going by the calendar date, it will be one year & one month on January 2nd (which also happens to be my 43rd birthday) since I started....who thought it would be this easy to feel so good in your forties?!?!).

*Note: my weight still sits at 155lbs. So, for me, this is not a weight loss fix but it is a "getting my life back" fix. It's not about the number on the scale, people!!*
