So. On the advice of some friends, I have made a video of me making a tuna melt. Why? Because I LOVE tuna melts. And because the entire sandwich is safe for me (#glutenfree and #dairyfree), and I want you to see that safely gluten free (and dairy free) food can still look and taste amazing. About the sandwich: I used my favorite GF/vegan bread from my favorite local GF bakery, Organicos Bakery. The plant-based cheeze slice is Chao Creamy Original, made by Field Roast. I put in a squeeze—okay, way more than a squeeze. Don't be like me. Just do a simple squeeze. Yikes that was a lot of lemon! A squeeze of lemon juice, some dill relish (not sweet!), some tarragon, some onion flakes, and some mayonnaise. Basically, I made a tuna salad the way I like it (only with WAY too much lemon juice). I toasted the bread BECAUSE IT'S A TUNA MELT and tuna melts are on toast, and prepped the toast with a bit of mayo on the OUTSIDE to give it some crispy golden yumminess. You could use butter, but I can't, and mayo is a shockingly good replacement in this case. And since I still don't have a panini press, I used a George Foreman grill, which gets the job done close enough. I gotta say, this was a GOOD start to my lunch! #glutenanddairyfree #miricooksgf
