Temper!😖Temper!🍫I give up!!😫 I was going to try making a reel… but I’ve been reel-y business with other life stuff the past couple of weeks! Finally, here’s a slideshow of the cake I made for my friends 60th bday celebration! Not the greatest pics because I barely got it done on time as this was my first attempt at making a tempered chocolate decoration (truth be told, I was late to the party!). 🌻🍫😫 Words like “easy” “foolproof” & “beginner” lured me in to a multitude of tempering tutorials on YouTube! I’ll spare you everything that went wrong because, while my decoration looked nothing like I envisioned, I was pretty darn proud that I got it to look pretty decent in the end! 🎂🍫🌻😅 The flower was about 6” round. The petals were tempered chocolate that I cut with cookie cutters & painted with gold luster dust. I toasted & skinned hazelnuts & coated in gold luster dust to create the center of the flower. The GF chocolate-orange layer cake w chocolate cream cheese frosting recipe is from the new @flourcraft gluten-free cookbook. I doubled it to get a large 2-layer cake. Everyone (GF & otherwise) agreed it was absolutely delicious! Tomorrow I’ll post a pic of the inside ‘cause my friend insisted I take home a slice of my hard work! 😋 🎂🥰 So, while I clearly need more practice with tempering chocolate, practicing temperance helped me keep my cool & keep me going when I thought to throw in the towel and run to the bakery!! 😎😅🎂🍫🌻 #glutenfreechocolatecake #temperedchocolate #chocolatedecoration #homebaked
