It seems like y’all appreciate vulnerability around here and after being taken down by a flu bug yesterday I’m feeling vulnerable, so here’s goes nothing ha. This is a picture of 6 orders that mean a whole lot to me and here’s why…because for over a week and a half I didn’t make a single sale and then our pop up that I was really counting on got rained out. Yep, despite what you may think we are still at a point in our business where I sometimes have full weeks where we don’t make a single online sale (or any kind of sale for that matter). I think it’s easy to fool y’all into thinking we’ve got it made be showing a nice feed and all the fun events. But this biz is still a baby and we are constantly learning, growing and evolving. The challenge with this is that down weeks often also means down confidence, lack of belief in this biz and myself and financial stress which leads me to lose my creativity. There is SO much more that goes into a business than what we let you guys see and even business owner to business owner we often keep our “dirty laundry” a secret. But I’m kinda tired of trying to portray perfection because it’s not real. I have anxiety and days where I feel really down. I also have days where we crush a new launch or a pop up and I feel super proud. It’s an all encompassing journey. & and I’m working to enjoy the process more than the outcomes. So to the six customers who recently ordered from us, thank you for being the reminder I needed that I CAN do this and that things will be okay. And to the fellow business owner who is feeling like a failure today, you’re not alone. This s**t is hard and we aren’t meant to go through it by ourselves. My DMs are always open!
