Most combined hormonal birth control methods contain synthetic versions of estrogen and proļ»ægestin.
These hormones prevent your ovaries from releasing eggs and make it harder for s***m to reach the egg.
ā”ļøNo Egg, No Pregnancy
By suppressing ovulation, hormonal birth control ensures there's no egg available for fertilization, which is crucial for pregnancy prevention.

Hormonal birth control also thickens cervical mucus, making it more difficult for s***m to travel through the cervix.
